Your name: Amber Lewis of Amber Interiors Who lives here? Chic and cute, young professional who found my design services through my blog www. amberinteriordesign.blogspot.com Where is this home located? Sunny Santa Monica CA. What was your inspiration for this project? My client wanted her space to feel brighter and a tad more glossy. I chose a fresh colour palette of Grey’s and pinks with added pops of Minty greens and Turquoise. The whole house had a very fresh colour palette. Nothing was too dark or heavy.

What is your favourite part of the design? I would have to say the stairs! It was a bit of a surprise for my client. She knew we were painting the stairs but didn’t know to what extent. I loved the way they came out. I was also over the moon about the pink David Hicks fabric dining chairs and the Raoul Textiles drapes. Stunning stuff!

How do you put a scheme together? I tend to work off of a vibe I get from the client. I ask what colours clients love or hate and how they themselves see the room. Then I just start layering pieces together until I find the right mix and can start to see a big picture. Designing a room is very intense for me. It’s my creative outlet and my extreme passion in life. I get very attached to my work so I go above and beyond normal hours to make sure it’s perfect!
