New Designer, New Look, New Team
Gaastra is proud to announce the beginning of a new era. Taking charge for all of the development is Peter Munzlinger based in Sardinia, Italy. He will be working closely with the team on creating some of the greatest designs ever!
Peter in the loft
Ross Williams has signed on for another 2 years to put himself on the podium. Ross specializes in racing and can also throw down some big moves to climb the wave ranking ladder as well. Arnon Dagan comes from Israel and has stepped in to the design world assisting Peter on the Vapor racing sail. His testing partner, Alberto Menagatti hails from Italy and has posted some great results in 2010 and will certainly be one to watch on the PWA slalom circuit. Cedric Bordes will also push the PWA envelope and assist the Gaastra team in achieving top racing results. The Gaastra Freestyle Team is always one to watch. It is heavily loaded with incredible talent from the likes of Kiri Thode, Tonky Frans and newcomers, Steven Van Broeckhoven and Davy Scheffers. Steven is from Belgium and he has been turning heads by jumping right onto the podium in his first season the PWA tour. Rookie sensation Scheffers has been very strong and promises to be a title contender at some point. Combine these guys together with the womens freestyle World Champion, Sarah-Quita Offringa and you have a potent freestyle crew. Sarah-Quita also brings to the table some racing talent. She will be contesting the PWA slalom championship alongside Valerie Arrighetti Ghibaudo who has won several titles already. These girls will be major threats on the women’s scene.

Heading our wave team will be French sensation Thomas Traversa. Thomas has established himself as one of the most radical wave sailors on the planet! He travels the world in search of perfect wind and waves. His friend and fellow ripper, Alex Mussolini will be along side him on the Gaastra IQ’s as well. These guys both have talent to deliver impressive performances anywhere they go. Jamie Hancock and Phil Horrocks round out the rest of the wave team and these guys will be ones to watch when the tour gets underway. Keep your eyes peeled!
