Dundalk Club Celebrates Winners Last month, the Rotary Club of Dundalk hosted a lunch in the Ballymascanlon Hotel in Dundalk for the eight School Winners who took part in the Youth Leadership Competition. These eight represented all the Secondary Schools in the Dundalk Area. The Teachers involved were also invited. The Manager of The Dundalk Credit Union, one of the sponsors of the competition, was also present. guests and the members. Pr e s i de nt Oliver we l c o me d the pupi l s , teachers, Manager of the Dundalk Credit Union and the Rotary members. He thanked the teachers for their help in organising the competition in their respective schools this year and in former years. He pointed out to the winners from each sc ho o l tha t the y w e r e already winners in their

own right, but that only o ne pe r s o n wou ld g o forward to the Regional Finals. He then thanked the owners of the Ballymascanlon Hotel for kindly sponsoring the beautiful lunch again this year. He also thanked the Dundalk Credit Union for sponsoring the competition for the 3rd year in succession.

particular thanks to Sean O’Hanrahan and Criona O’Reilly, who ran the competition in a very professional manner. He also pointed out that the Dundalk club has a very high success rate in this competition.

The overall winner was Conor Begley fr om Colaiste Ris in Dundalk. He received a cash prize and special certificate. All finalists received a certificate, and each school involved received a cash donation.

Christmas Extravaganza Enjoyed By Armagh Club

The Rotary Club of Armagh recently held a Christmas Extravaganza of Food, Fashion and Fun with Celebrity Chef Jenny Bristow, Ireland’s Good Food Ambassador and Ambassador for Ulster Wildlife, at The Armagh City Hotel in Armagh. A number of shops participated in the event, and the club would like to thank all who did. All proceeds from the day went to the Society of St Vincent de Paul, NSPCC, Ulster Wildlife and Rotary charities.
