Methodology The methodology divides the Data Warehousing project implementation activities into four phases: Requirement Analysis, Design, Development and Deployment. Each phase is further broken down into several sub activities and has specific entry and exit criteria.

Phase 1: Requirement Analysis During this phase, the customer's requirements are gathered with respect to the following areas: l

Business Drivers

l

Business Objectives

l

System Requirements

Phase 2: Design The design phase is divided into five sub phases: l

Technical Architecture Design

l

Logical Data Modeling

l

Physical Database Design

l

ETL Design

l

End User Application Design

The technical architecture for the solution is based on the user requirements and the inputs about the existing infrastructure. Phase 3: Development The development phase consists of four parallel processes viz. l

ETL Development

l

End User Applications Development

l

Product Installation

l

Integration Testing

Phase 4: Deployment In this phase, all the parallel streams in design and deployment phase converge, and the various parts of the data warehousing solutions are integrated together. The solution is made accessible from user desktops, and is handed over to the user after a transition phase, which consists of acceptance testing and user training.

Delivery Processes Inteq have established processes for all the phases of the DW life cycle. l
