Engagement Models AppShark provides services using various engagement models. The engagement model selection is usually based on the services being delivered and the nature of the assignment.
Offshore Project AppShark provides project based estimates including time, effort and cost. These usually tend to be fixed price projects, and this approach is ideal for small projects that have well-defined and fixed scope.
Offshore Development Center (ODC) AppShark will provide a high-quality development team that is dedicated to your project(s). This is ideal for medium to large projects where scope is subject to revision and change. This model allows the most flexibility in application development and lends itself to the Agile development methodology.
Managed Projects This model is suitable for Projects that need on-site coordination and management by AppShark staff. One or more individuals from AppShark will be placed on-site to coordinate the day-to-day activities and facilitate communication between the offshore team and the client stake holders.
Managed ODC This is similar to the ODC model with the exception that there will be AppShark staff present on-site to coordinate and facilitate day to day activities. This approach makes it easy for the client by removing the communication barriers between the on-site and offshore teams; the on-site AppShark representative will be responsible for delivery from the offshore team.
Maintenance For application maintenance projects, the engagement starts with on-site training of AppShark staff or offshore training by client representative. Once training is done and the project is kicked off, support can be provided by offshore team. Where necessary, customer can request on-site AppShark coordinator, which will be provided. Certain maintenance projects (SaaS applications, CRM applications etc.) typically do not require AppShark’s on-site presence.
Custom Engagement For customers that require a custom engagement model, AppShark will work with the customer in identifying the requirements and putting together a workable engagement model.
