International Architecture Competitions BEE BREEDERS|2nd prize 2015 Rooted in a context of terrorist attack, the Casablanca Bombing Rooms seek to bring together the local community for collective gathering, learning, and cultural exchange in the quest for peace. As such, the library / exhibition space / cultural center is tasked with raising awareness as well as fulfilling its role as a social destination in Casablanca. The diverse program calls for a variety of spaces, ranging from dark to light, solitary to collective, and passive versus active.

CONCEPT DESCRIPTION This project is a message of hope and a symbol of rebirth. Ruins are becoming sharing and learning places. This project is articulated around a public space : on one side a source of light for the library and on the other side a space of exhibition for the city. The exhibition space is composed of these three steps : - Knowledge - Strength - Exchange The first room, through its darkness and closeness, gives one information about attacks in the world. Further, the journey continues in a lightly path with stairs of glass leading to the top of the building. This climbing is a metaphor of hope. It contains exhibitions related to happiness : weddings, births, cultural events etc... Finally, on the top, a cafeteria surrounded by a garden invites people to have discussion and share opinions. This monumental building today is an open injury. However, nature is stronger and life continues. Very quick the building will be recovered by plants : a nice victory against terrorism !

The library is created around the path. It is a moving space which promotes interactions between people. The continuous ramps are also leading to the garden. Space of library has been thought for free appropriation ; the space is open and offers different places for reading, studying surfing, discussing.

Lighthouse sea hotel| Competition LIGHT catching - contextual design
LIGHT intervention - sustainability
LIGHT weight structures-mobility
The project is an interpretation of light as source of visual connection. From the ancestral fire to the old lighthouse tower, light is the element that vitalizes our hotel.
Our proposal wants to preserve the natural beauty of the site: few interventions for the minimum impact.
Foldable elements from wood and fabric, a mobile hotel towards the aim of promoting the net of Sicilian lighthouses.
LIGHTHouse(s) hotel concept description Murro di Porco is one of a dozen Sicilian lighthouses. Possesing unique landscape characteristics and symbol of poetic maritimes scenery, it declines day by day : unknown by tourists and needless for locals. Our aim is to change this condition Our conceptual scheme can be adapted to all existing lighthouses in Sicily and plays with three classes of elements: Existing buildings host collective functions like reception, administration, cafés, restaurants and social clubs. Permanent elements are decking platforms which provide all necessary needs such as wc, showers and electricity supply. Compared to a traditional house, the platform can be conceived as an open-air living room with a place for gathering and a fireplace. Temporary elements are bedrooms that are plugged-in to the decking platforms. Combined together in several modules they form units that we like to call “Light” houses. Once that lighthouse’s site is prepared to host LIGHT HOUSE(s) HOTEL (plug-in platforms are built, and the existing buildings are tidied up), temporary elements are moved from one location to another. The moving hotel will leave a revitalized site that can be used by local communities, providing them outdoor activities by the sea with all the necessary comforts. The same moving hotel can be hosted every time in a different scenery.

Memory path
Nature path
Path of tomorrow
The Memory path is dedicated to the historical massacre of the WWII. The main walkway is paved by symbolic bullets. It leads visitors to a memory garden where all existing monuments are collected and position for new monuments are defined. Memory garden expresses the idea of precious life regardless to race , religion or any other feature. The holocaust square toward the future memorial museum will also be created.
The Nature path is designed to commemorate the mudslide disaster of 1961 and to show beauty and strength of nature. The main path is made by a water receptacle. It is divided in several steps, the main entrance leads to water walls, they are located on the remain of the old dam. Water sounds will be the symbol of this path. Then the path continues toward the secret garden, a peaceful place around the season pond. It collects clear water from natural filter ponds.
The path of tomorrow intends to be minimal. The proposal is the metaphor of the future, the aim is to let people taking care of the development of this area. We provide one main path and propose to use an abandoned building, the program could be define further by citizens, this is a capable space.

Three paths all reach a central belvedere, which offers an overview of all the site and a better understanding of the entire place. This belvedere also has a symbolic signification as a collector for stones which visitors bring here to witness their visit at Babyn Yar Park and to pay respect to all the tragic events happened at the site.

One of the tasks was to organise monuments that were placed randomly on the site and to forecast places for future monuments. Our proposal is to collect all existing monuments in one place, which we call “Memory garden”.
The path works as a gutter and supplies the filter ponds. These ponds control the level of water in the central pond, having the highest water level in spring, the time when disater had happen.
We propose light interventions following a grid, people will explore the site and reach different folies.

Burgeon towers
Concept description The residential complex is situated in a picturesque suburban area of Hubei. The shape of the towers was inspired by surrounding virgin nature, its vegetative shapes. For overheating protection the sunshade screens were placed on west and east facades, these wooden louvers became an important part of the design. To create distinguish image for each building we used colour code, the tint is slightly different for each tower and refers to its name: spring, summer, autumn and winter.

Project information
Type_Architecture Total area above ground_1800m2 Architect_Iryna Safonova Concept description Construction site is located in the heart of Beijing, next to Tiananmen square and surrounded by traditional old buildings. The concept idea emerged from the site context itself. By inverting void and volume of traditional Chinese courtyard house the main shape of the gallery building was obtained: the volume of the Gallery surrounded by the four voids of “courtyards”. Primary structure of the gallery building is metal framework, which allows to create column free multifunctional space of the first floor and create specific image of the building. According to client’s requirements North part of the plot should host private residences. The aim was to preserve a memory of the place and in this way to create additional value for the new development, that is why the concept proposal is a mixture of preserved ancient structures and new buildings.

CONCEPT DESCRIPTION The conceptual idea is to combine images of both countries in the architectural project. The image of Switzerland is represented by the shape of the building which is like a rock skyline and by the rough concrete surface of facade which is typical for the modern Swiss architecture. The Kenya’s character is expressed mainly in surrounding landscape that appeals to soft forms and vivid lines that inhere in traditional Kenya architecture.
