Leadership & Vision
Mildred Corey 1915 – 2009
Mildred & Arthur Corey included John Stoddard Cancer Center in their estate. With this gift they helped to provide key programs and services to those we have the privilege to serve at a time when it is needed most. It is often the case that we are not aware that we are included in an estate or a will, and therefore do not have the opportunity to thank people while they are alive. Such was the case with Mr. & Mrs. Corey. We did not have an opportunity to know Mr. & Mrs. Corey, but we celebrate them and the difference they made through their gift to John Stoddard.
Thomas Eggleston 1930 – 2010
Tom & his wife Barb, of Cedar Rapids, have been long time friends and supporters of Blank Children’s Hospital. That friendship started when Dr. Lee Forrest Hill and Dr. William Hornaday cared for their young daughter Trudy. Trudy passed away in 1968 at age 8 of kidney disease. Tom was very active not only supporting Blank Children’s but also supporting Camp Courageous. He was a bundle of unstoppable energy and seldom missed Blank or Foundation events. Barb continues the giving tradition that they started together!

It is not how many years we live, but what we do with them. It is not what we receive, but what we give to others. -Evangeline Booth
