ISA Futurity Heifers, steers, and market heifers may be entered in the ISA Futurity if they are purchased at a sanctioned sale in Iowa. The auctions pay a $200 sanction fee and then cattle purchased at these sales can be entered in the Futurity shows. These must be entered at the time of purchase and pay an entry fee of $10 each to be eligible to be shown in the Futurity. Shows to be held in mid-June at the same time and place as the Summer Iowa Jr. Simmental shows. All sanction fees and entry fees are paid back in prize money. Sanction fees and entry fees must be paid to Iowa Simmental Association within 30 days after the sale. Champion heifer receives $500 cash and Reserve heifer receives $250. Champion market animal receives $250 and Reserve market animal receives $150. Champion foundation heifer receives $250 and the Reserve foundation heifer receives $150. All other money from sanction fees and entry fees will be prorated back as class prize money.

Heifers must be at least half blood Simmental and registered and market animals must be at least half blood Simmental and registered. Three-quarters blood and purebred heifers will show in one division and the half blood to 74% foundation heifers will show in another division. Heifers may only show in one division. This is an open show. Animals purchased by out-of-state buyers are eligible to enter the futurity show held in conjunction with the Iowa Simmental Junior show. That same animal may be shown in the Junior show , if the animal is registered to a junior and that junior is a member of the Iowa Junior Simmental Association. Juniors must be a resident of Iowa to be eligible for Iowa Junior Simmental membership. Sanctioned Sales Buy your Simmental Show heifer or steer at one of the following ISA Sanctioned Sales. Animals nominated out of an ISA sanctioned sale are eligible to compete for prize money at the ISA Futurity Show that is held in conjunction with the IJSA Summer Field Day in June.
