Saluting Our Real Hometown Heroes

CELEB R

To all the brave men and women who risk their own lives to save ours—to all of you who rush into the fires and floods, who sift through the rubble, who leave the comfort and safety of your own families to care for others—we offer heartfelt thanks. Join the Blue Wahoos in honoring our first responders— law enforcement officers, firefighters, EMTs and others—who work tirelessly and selflessly to keep our communities and families safe. We encourage everyone to come out and support these local heroes and show your appreciation for everything they do.

We are there no matter what, and we never give up. Escambia Search & Rescue is a love of community put into action. ESAR is a local non-profit that professionally trains members in search and rescue techniques and provides land, water and canine rescue services. ESAR is an all-volunteer effort funded through individual and corporate donations, and with seven units or “commands,” there is a job for every interest and talent. Joining ESAR demands commitment but offers a reward beyond measure. Whether they are responding to a natural disaster or searching for a missing child, ESAR members agree that nothing feels better than finding someone who is lost, afraid or hurt and returning them safely to home and family.

THAT OTHERS MAY LIVE escambiasearchandrescue.com

ESAR is open to anyone 18 or older who can spare a few hours a week and wants to make a difference. Volunteer or donate today.
