Crookston — “In Progress” is presenting a series of photo exhibits and screenings that celebrate Latino identity in northwestern Minnesota. The MICAH Retreat Center, Crookston Public Schools, Crookston Public Library, the University of Minnesota, Crookston and Bremer Bank displayed the works created by the In Progress participants. They will remain on display at the Crookston Library until early next week. Visit these locations to learn more about how young Latinos are experiencing their lives in this community.

In Progress provides opportunities for young people to develop their skills as storytellers, artists and leaders through the use of digital media. Each year, this small non-profit partners with urban, rural, and tribal communities to provide quality mentorships that contribute to building the public voice of those least heard in our nation, serving more than 1,000 youth each year.

The Fresh Voices Program is dedicated to raising the visibility of Latinos in and around Crookston by working with youth and their families to develop public speakers, community organizers, and leaders.

In Progress is a recipient of an Arts Access grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, This activity is funded in part by the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage fund as appropriated by the Minnesota State Legislature with money from the Legacy Amendment vote in November 2008.
