Rivers The rivers of Italy compared to other European regions are quite short. River Po is the longest river in the country. It is 652 km long. (Piedmont, Lombardy). River Adige is the second longest river in Italy. It is 409 km long. (Trentino­Alto Adige, Veneto). River Tiber is the third longest river in Italy. It is 405 km long. (Emilia­Romaña, Tuscany, Umbria, Lazio). River Arno is the fourth longest river in Italy. It is 241 km long. (Tuscany).


Lakes ­ Lake Garda, is the broadest lake in Italy and is a glacier lake. Area: 370 km ² Length: 51.6 km Width: 17.2 km. ­ Lake Maggiore, is the third biggest lake in Italy. It is a glacier lake.
