The Kastles’ New Home (It’s who you know…) By Paul Kastle This newsletter would not be complete if we didn’t share a little of what we have been up to the last few months. About March we started thinking it would be really nice to get a bigger house, and to have enough land to park all of the toys at home. We started looking, and before we knew it in early April we placed an offer on a property. In this competitive housing market, our offer of $30k over asking was not accepted, and we were left to continue our search. That’s where the club comes in to the story… The next day, while I was on an early morning call for work I had a missed call from John, who had just gotten a call from Ray saying that the house right next door to Janice’s cousin was going to be for sale. By the time I got off of my call I had a text from Melissa with the address, and I was looking at the property that was newly listed on the MLS. It is under a mile from Ray and Janice’s, up the hill a little and just outside the city of Riverside in Woodcrest. It was a beautiful 3 bedroom, 2088 sq ft home on an acre of land, and most importantly it had two bathrooms! It was basically double our current home in many ways. We called our realtor, and arranged to see it that Sunday. We fell in love, and submitted our offer. One significant catch was that we had the contingency of needing to sell our old house, and many sellers would not wait for that in today’s market. Fortunately we were able to convince them, and they accepted our offer. This kicked off the crazy process of cleaning up ours, listing it, showing it during the Dumont weekend, getting 8 offers, choosing one, negotiating for possession after close of escrow so we wouldn’t have to live in the trailer for a month, and a few hundred docu-sign online signatures. It was neat when Ray walked right in to the house during our home inspection, and always kept us up to date on what was going on at the house. Everything went according to plan, and both escrows closed on time, resulting in us moving in over Father’s Day weekend. Thanks to all of our parents for spending their weekend helping us move. Now we are living in the new house and starting to unpack. We can’t wait to show everyone!

This month we’d like to thank Mike Bacon for sending in content, and encourage everyone else to do the same. What are you up to this summer? We’re looking forward to getting ready for another great Coral Pink trip, and we’ll cover that trip in the next newsletter. Please send your contributions for future newsletters to me at pkastle@msn.com and we will publish them along with a calendar of events each month. -Paul, Melissa, Allie, and Marshall. 7
