Secrets of Scotland Yard Sunday, November 17 at 8pm No police institution in the world has caught the public imagination in the same way as Scotland Yard. Some contemporary sleuths reveal the secrets of what it takes to become a modern-day Sherlock Holmes and the program uncovers some grim and grisly details of detectives who have gone before.

Carol Burnett: The Mark Twain Prize Sunday, November 24 at 8pm Carol Burnett — comedic icon and all-around performing legend — is the guest of honor when, for the 16th year, the comedy world convenes in Washington, DC, to toast this year’s recipient of the Kennedy Center’s Mark Twain Prize for American Humor. The program features comedic highlights from Burnett’s half-century in show business.

POV: Listening Is an Act of Love: A StoryCorps Special Thursday, November 28 at 9pm

The first-ever animated special from StoryCorps celebrates the transformative power of listening. The special features six stories from 10 years of the innovative oral history project, when everyday people sit down together to share memories and tackle life’s important questions.

The music is a mix of classic hits from the 1950s and 1960s, the Motown era, as well as contemporary pop hits with the classic SNC twist. Tune in to this program for a special ticket opportunity to see Straight No Chaser at the Murat at Old National Centre on December 21 at either 3 or 8pm.

Il Volo: Buon Natale Saturday, November 30 at 5pm Piero Barone, Ignazio Boschetto, and Ginaluca Ginoble have been receiving unanimous raves for their vocal talent and showmanship. Now the trio is celebrating the Christmas holidays with their brand new PBS special taking on American Christmas classics.

Wisconsin Jewel Box Theaters: ‘Club Swing’ By Five by Design Saturday, November 30 at 7pm Swing into the State Theatre in Eau Claire, Wisconsin for an evening of Big Band Swing performed by this exciting vocal harmony group. This special promises crowd favorites from the 1930s, ‘40s and ‘50s. Tune in to this program for a special ticket opportunity to see Five by Design perform with the Carmel Symphony Orchestra on December 14, 2013 at the Palladium or with the Terre Haute Symphony Orchestra on March 22, 2014.

The Best of the ’60s: My Music Archives Saturday, November 30 at 8:30pm For the past decade the My Music series has been preserving and archiving the greatest songs of the 1960s. Now, My Music Archives presents The Best of the ’60s, a special configuration of selected original hit songs featured in My Generation: The ’60s, The British Beat, Motown, ’60s Pop, Rock & Soul, and The ’60s Generation brought together in a special collector’s edition premium package. This new program compilation and DVD collection features the greatest moments of these specials from the rock, pop and folk years.

40th Anniversary Moby Dick from San Francisco Opera Friday, November 1 at 9pm The San Francisco Opera presents Jake Heggie and Gene Scheer’s adaptation of the classic Herman Melville novel Moby Dick. Jay Hunter Morris stars the obsessive Captain Ahab, delivering a bravura performance.

Stephen Sondheim’s Company Friday, November 8 at 9pm This groundbreaking musical centers on Bobby, a confirmed bachelor celebrating his 35th birthday with his 10 closest friends. This 2011 New York Philharmonic concert production starring Neil Patrick Harris as Bobby won rave reviews. Harris’ co-stars include Patti LuPone, Stephen Colbert and many more.

Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Oklahoma! Friday, November 15 at 9pm Still “doin’ fine” after 60 years, Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Oklahoma! is reborn in this film version of the Royal National Theatre of Great Britain’s award-winning production. The magic of the original London cast was captured in this deluxe film adaptation, which includes a sensational, star-making performance by Hugh Jackman as Curly.
