While there is no universal agreement on the exact shelf life of strip charts used in pen or ribbon-writing applications, tests have been conducted and show that these papers can become brittle and lose their fold strength after as long as 25 years, with no appreciable loss to any other mechanical properties. Graphic Controls recommends storage in ambient conditions of 72°F and 50% R.H. to maintain the integrity of a chart, from a perspective of cleanliness and dimensional accuracy.
