ULTRA VIOLET

In this issue of Impressions Bride, we celebrate the Pantone 2018 Color of the Year, Ultra Violet, a dramatically provocative purple that’s thoughtful, complex and contemplative. Ultra Violet suggests the intrigue of what lies ahead and the discoveries beyond where we are now. Purples have long been symbolic of counterculture, unconventionality and artistic brilliance. Nuanced and emotional, Ultra Violet symbolizes non-conformity and experimentation, spurring individuals to imagine their mark on the world, and push boundaries through creativity.

PICKING A DATE

T

that works for all

he first question you'll hear when friends and family are informed of your engagement is "When is the wedding?" Choosing a date is extremely important. All your planning revolves around it. Consider these tips to help pick the perfect date.

If you know where you'd like to have the ceremony and reception, call them

and confirm what dates are available. If you're set on a specific spot, your date will have to coincide with its availability, especially if it's a popular location which tends to book quickly. Have you always dreamed of a beach wedding or a fall wedding with beautiful leaves in the background? Choose a date that's appropriate in temperature

and season. Also keep in mind that the time of year you select will influence your bridal attire choices. Christmas is a popular time because locations are beautifully decorated. However, a wedding in addition to the normal holiday activities may be too much for some. Maybe a wedding during a long weekend would be a bit easier for guests? Some may appreciate a holiday weekend, while others may have to rearrange vacations. Lastly consider what's going on with the people in your life. If your maid of honor is giving birth the same month, you may want to adjust for her benefit. Or maybe your parents have a vacation planned. Work with your significant others and their individual schedules to pick the best date that works for all. 

GET AWAYand relax I n the hustle and bustle that leads up to a wedding, it's easy to get stressed out. There are so many things to do and organize for the big day. It can become extremely overwhelming, as well as stressful.

overwhelmed, so book a spa break when you feel the tension starting to build. Afterwards, you'll feel stress melt away,

leaving you revitalized and ready for the wedding festivities that lie ahead.

You can get away from all of those last minute wedding worries by treating yourself — and those in your wedding party, as well as friends and family — to a day of pampering. There are many options for what to do on your spa day that can range from massage and relaxation to manicures and pedicures to hair, make-up amd more. You can even plan a bridesmaid outing to get away with your gals or a spa day away with your fiancee! Once you decide what you are looking for, leave the rest to the spa staff, and let yourself truly relax, having all of your needs met in a calm and tranquil environment. Treatments at most spas will include beauty and make-up, pedicures, manicures and a variety of massages. Massage treatments are generally very popular. They not only feel great, but they also have a variety of health benefits, promoting relaxation, reducing tension and anxiety. There are also often a variety of body wraps and exfoliation services which can help you get rid of the nasty toxins in your bday and stimulate your metabolism, ensuring that you will look beautiful in your wedding dress and in your honeymoon wardrobe. Spas may also offer additional services, such as sauna or steam rooms or spray tanning. Wedding build up may cause you to feel W W W.FA C EB O O K .C O M / IMP RES SI O NSB RID E

PHOTO PITFALLS

C

you'll want to avoid

ouples generally have high expectations of their wedding photographer — and that's ok. Does your photographer know what you want, what you like and how to deliver it? Develop a trusting relationship with your photographer so you can exactly get what you're wanting from your engagement and wedding photos. And, like all relationships, communication is key to getting the great photos you've dreamed about. Use these wedding photography tips

will help you avoid the most common wedding photography pitfalls.

Define Your Goals Your wedding photographer needs to know exactly what you want and what will make you happy. That's right, it's important for you to clearly spell out what you want in your photography. This is your dream wedding day and you need to ensure the photographer knows exactly what you want. Are you

interested in tons of formals or are you more interested in creative images? Do you want engagement pictures or do you just want to focus on your wedding? The best way to show your photographer what you want is by using examples. A picture is worth a thousand words and surfing the web is free. Spend time looking at wedding photography and decide on a style you like. Once you find it, you can send the photographer an email with links to the images you want reviewed. Make sure you explain why you like those particular images, so the photographer can duplicate the style in your wedding photos.

Tell Them What You Expect Does your photographer know who you are? Obviously, you're a client but does the photographer know the real you? If the photographer doesn't really get to know you then how is he or she going to get unique images that represent your personality. The answer is actually simpler than you may believe. Tell the photographer about your basic information like, how you first met, how long you've been together, how your proposal occurred, and what do you like to do. Only by being completely honest and open with your wedding photographer, can you hope to get the type of images you've been dreaming of.

Create a Photo Checklist To avoid any misunderstandings during your wedding photography, put 6

PICTUREPERFECT together a list of must have photos. This will take some time on your part, but it will definitely pay off when you see that you have all the images you wanted. Your photographer may have a list and be happy to give it to you. A common wedding photography list could include things like: bride and groom getting ready before ceremony, the wedding cake, the venue details, the rings, signing the marriage license, the formals, etc. It's up to you to ensure that the photographer knows what you want. That list changes with each client.

Schedule Blocks of Time for Specific Wedding Photos Another pitfall is scheduling a generic time slot for "wedding photos." It's better to set aside specific blocks of time for specific groups. By tweaking the schedule you'll be able to manage time and avoid having the wedding party or family hanging around for hours. Your photographer will thank you for being organized and creating a schedule of what pictures will be taken and when. When creating your schedule, most aren't well-versed in photography timelines. As a general rule, you should allow about 1 ½ hours for the bride and groom alone, ½ hour for the wedding party, and an hour for family portraits. Since your wedding photos are the only tangible thing left after your wedding, it's a great idea to leave your wedding photographer plenty of time to get all the shots you've been dreaming of and put down on your checklist. Give a copy of your schedule to your photographer, your wedding party and your family members.

Know Your Expectations Everyone has expectations. Getting married is no different. The bride, groom, wedding planner and photoW W W.FA C EB O O K .C O M / IMP RES SI O NSB RID E

CHOOSING THE

perfect location for you I

f you're getting married, you'll want to choose the right venue, so that your wedding day is perfect. Here are things to consider. Establish what sort of venue you are wanting. You may be getting married in a church, then going elsewhere for the reception, or you may want to get married and have your reception in the same venue. It's totally up to you and there are plenty of options available.

VENUEMATTERS You'll want to have some idea of the location you want too. Maybe you want somewhere local to where you met, or where you live. You might have a specific venue in mind already, or you might want to choose somewhere that's easy for all your guests to get to. It's important to consider the time of year that you're getting married. Summer weddings are popular, and so the venue you want is likely to be booked well in advance. Winter weddings are not as common, and so you might be able to get the venue you want.

means your guests won't need to travel in order to get to their accommodation after your reception. You'll want everything perfect on your wedding day. The venue is one of the most important decisons. Make sure your budget allows for everything you

want. You wouldn't want to have your dream wedding compromised for the sake of spending a little bit less. Look around and choose wisely.



Article by M. James / www.ezinearticles.com

If you're flexible on the date then you may have a choice of several suitable wedding venues. If you have already chosen your date, then you might have to settle for a different venue. The number of guests you're inviting, and expect to attend, will also have some bearing on the sort of venue you choose. If you're expecting hundreds of guests, then you won't want to choose somewhere too small, while a large venue will look empty if you only have a handful of guests. Don't forget to include the bride and groom, too! Having a planner will take a lot of the hassle and stress out of planning your wedding. Many venues will offer this service, so that you have less to think about as the big day approaches. By letting the venue wedding planner take care of everything to do with the venue, and the food, you won't need to worry about chairs, seating plans, place cards, or whether you've ordered enough drinks and flowers. You may also want to think about guest accommodations. You many want to provide a list of local hotels so guests may stay over if they choose.
