You may have already spotted our building site hoardings which show, that this Autumn; our dealership will move from its existing home of 37 years to a 6 acre state of the art premises on the main Tyburn Road into Birmingham. There are currently teams of builders, diggers and technical equipment busy constructing our new dealership which will bring you a stunning 10 vehicle new car showroom, a 12 bay service centre, drive through service & collection facilities and dedicated new vehicle collection suites. All of us here at Colliers Land Rover are excited about the new site, the facilities available to our customers and the future models we will be able to showcase. It’s a milestone in the history of Colliers Land Rover and we can’t wait for you all to see the new dealership. INTRODUCING OUR NEW GENERAL MANAGER - GARY PHIPPS We are pleased to introduce our new Dealer Principal, Gary Phipps. Gary has worked with the Land Rover brand for over 14 years so brings a wealth of experience to Colliers Land Rover. Gary enjoys nothing more than spending time with his wife Rebecca and children Charlie and Thomas. Thomas is currently doing his GCSE’s and Charlie is currently a Brown White Belt at Karate, so he tries not to argue with him too much! Very much an equestrian family, they love spending time with their 17 hand Irish Draft Grey called Alfie and Welsh Section C called Jasper. Gary is also a qualified diving instructor and would love to find more time to go diving in the UK.

THE NEW AGE OF DISCOVERY Land Rover recently revealed its Discovery Vision Concept SUV in New York. It is a vision of Land Rover’s future family of Discovery vehicles, the first model of which is due in 2015. The concept car previews dynamic new design language and an array of innovative versatility and capability features, while also showcasing pioneering technologies from Jaguar Land Rover’s advanced research division. With the Discovery poised to transition from a single model to a new family of vehicles which will redefine the leisure SUV category, the Discovery Vision Concept offers an exciting preview of Land Rover’s vision for the range, and the modern, premium design language of future models. Phil Popham, Group Marketing Director, Jaguar Land Rover, said: “We announced at the Geneva Motor Show in March that the Discovery family is set to evolve. And it is apt that in the 25th anniversary year of the original Discovery that we preview how this evolution will take us forward into a daring new era. MEET THE TEAM AT COLLIERS Scott Bullock - Sales Manager Scott Bullock joined Colliers in September 2000 and was promoted to Sales Manager in October 2002. Scott worked for a family business selling high performance cars for 7 years before joining Colliers Land Rover. He is extremely interested in all motor sports; Formula 1 and Moto GP being two of his favourite types. He plays golf in his spare time, enjoys spending time with the family on weekends, he likes watching his two boys playing football and walking the family British Bulldog. Scott loves most cars but his favourite is the Ferrari.
James Irvine - Sales Specialist Having worked in the automotive industry for over 10 years, James worked with Fiat and Mercedes before joining Colliers. Prior to that, he spent 15 years as a qualified Royal Air Force Aircraft Electrical & Flight Systems engineer.

LAND ROVER ANNOUNCES GLOBAL PARTNERSHIP WITH VIRGIN GALACTIC Land Rover, the British brand synonymous with adventure, has revealed a long-term global partnership with Richard Branson’s pioneering commercial spaceline, Virgin Galactic. Demonstrating their shared vision of pioneering spirit, technological innovation and sense of adventure, the ground breaking partnership was announced against the backdrop of SpaceShipTwo, the world’s first commercial passenger carrying spacecraft, together with Land Rover’s new Discovery Vision Concept vehicle. The announcement illustrates the commitment that both brands share to iconic design and engineering excellence and a desire to push the boundaries of travel for the next generation. The partnership will see Land Rover vehicles become part of daily life for the Virgin Galactic team and for all ‘Future Astronauts’, the space experience will now begin with Land Rover as they arrive in New Mexico for training, and continue to the moment they drive from the space terminal building to the waiting spaceship. DOUBLE AWARD FOR LAND ROVER IN AUTO EXPRESS DRIVER POWER SURVEY Land Rover has scooped two awards in Britain’s biggest customer satisfaction survey - Auto Express’s 2014 Driver Power. The annual poll received more than 50,000 responses from car owners on the issues that really matter, such as reliability, running costs and performance. Owners were asked to rate their car out of five and Land Rover Discovery was voted as having Best Ride Quality with an impressive score of 97.59 per cent. Jaguar Land Rover dominated the category, with six out of the top 10 models. In the In-Car Tech category, Auto Express magazine asked participants how they rated their cars’ audio and entertainment systems as well as other technology, such as phone connectivity and the user-friendliness of displays. Range Rover Evoque scored a near-perfect 94.15 per cent. Evoque includes a raft of sophisticated technology features, including a high-definition centre console touch-screen display which drivers have praised for its crisp graphics and simple, intuitive on-screen navigation. The display is available with innovative dual-view technology, so driver and passenger can view independent content. Steve Fowler, Editor of Auto Express said: “These are excellent results for Land Rover - we’ve always highly praised the Discovery for its ride quality and it’s clear owners agree. LAND ROVER DEBUTS INVISIBLE CAR TECHNOLOGY Pioneering technology is being developed to give Land Rover drivers a digital vision of the terrain ahead by making the front of the car ‘virtually’ invisible. Cameras located in the vehicle’s grille capture data used to feed a Head-Up Display, effectively creating a ‘see-through’ view of the terrain through the bonnet and engine bay, breaking new ground in visual driver assistance. The technology, named Transparent Bonnet by its creators, shows how advanced technology will take Land Rover’s unrivalled capability to the next level. The technology enables a driver climbing a steep incline or manoeuvring in a confined space to see an augmented reality view capturing not only the terrain in front of the car but also the angle and position of the front wheels. Dr Wolfgang Epple, Director of Research and Technology for Jaguar Land Rover, said: “We believe the next 25 years will be the most exciting and dynamic the automotive industry has ever experienced. There will be huge strides in environmental innovation, in safety and capability. “As our vehicles become more capable and autonomous off-road, we will ensure the driver has the confidence to allow the car to continue to progress, over any terrain.
