Message from Vice Principals Assalamu Alaikum,

Assalamu Alaikum Wr. Wb. I wish to extend a warm welcome to all staff, parents and teachers to the new academic year. I pray that it will be a healthy, successful and happy year to all alike. Alhamdulillah we are off to a smooth start which usually paves the way to a good year ahead of us. Routine for younger children is the most important element to their happiness and success. Therefore, I urge parents to set a routine of rest, homework and play at home for their children and ensure they are in bed no later than 8:30pm. Once this is established early and from day one, children become very clear of expectations and it makes their school day run a lot smoother. There has been no shortage of success stories to share and celebrate last year. Inshallah we will all celebrate many more achievements and enjoy the awards together. I am aware that many parents are having difficulty with picking up their PREP child at 12:00pm. I apologize for the inconvenience but would really like your understanding in this matter. The transition program has been designed with your child in mind and leaving school early for the first few weeks is essential. Starting school can be very overwhelming for our younger children and must not be compared with kindergarten or childcare. Offering after care until the end of the day defeats the purpose of this transition as children become very tired at school. A tired child is challenged to display positive behavior and is certainly not conducive to learning in the busy classroom. I thank all parents for their co-operation and wish to point out our primary school morning assembly will be held at the gym on Friday mornings. Parents are welcome to join from 8:50 onwards. Please also be reminded that 'Meet the Teacher" Information evenings will be held by all Primary teachers on Thursday 26th of February after school in your child's classrooms. This will provide an opportunity to meet your child's teacher and become informed of important information about their year level. Please ensure you attend this important session. Further information and reminders will be sent out as the time comes closer.
