designed the city. It has a central park: Moreno Square. La Plata is called ‘La ciudad de las diagonales’ (‘city of diagonals’). You can visit the Cathedral, the zoo, the Natural Museum, the Argentine Theatre and the largest football stadium in Latin America ‘Estadio Único’. La Plata is beautiful!

The Cathedral La Plata is very famous for its Cathedral. It is very big. It’s one of the largest churches in Latin America. It’s opposite Moreno square and the Town Hall. It has a Neogothic style. There is central building and eight towers on each side. There are beautiful stained-glass windows inside.

La Plata’s Natural Museum La Plata is very famous for its Natural Museum. There are fossils and relics, an amphitheatre and a very big library. It was founded by Pascasio Moreno in 1880. The entrance is guarded by two ‘smilodons’ or tigers. You can see a gigantic dinosaur, the skull of a blue whale, ceramics, etc.

La Plata’s Argentine Theatre La Plata is very famous for its theatre It’s very big and it’s one of the most important opera houses in Argentina. A fire destroyed the original building in 1977. The new building was finished in 1999. There is a beautiful chandelier with 400 light bulbs. You

La Plata’s Zoo La Plata is very famous for its zoo. It opened in 1907. You can ride on a train to enjoy the lakes and jungles. There is an elephant called ‘Pelusa’ and a lion. There are macaws and monkeys. Near the lake you can see turtles, geese and ducks. There’s herpetarium. There are snakes and spiders! Our zoo is so beautiful!

La Plata’s largest football stadium La Plata is very famous for its two football teams:
Estudiantes
and
Gimnasia.
Estudiantes’ t-shirt is red and white and Gimnasia’s t-shirt is blue and white. Now in La Plata there is a very big football stadium called “unique stadium”. It is one of the most modern in America and it is got a roof !!!
