“A recent development is the installation of pressure adjustment dials that enable the operator to control how much pressure is applied by the clamps to the wood in order to make sure that they do not cause any damage to the surfaces. This is particularly useful for companies wanting to process honeycomb panels or those with sensitive surfaces. “The BHX 050 maintains the full functionality of a CNC point to point machine whilst saving a great deal of space. The throughfeed concept, impressive panel size capacity and low price mean that it truly is a smart investment.” Optimisation with eSolution CAD|CAM “To give the BHX 050 an added boost, it can be optimised with Homag’s eSolution woodCAD|CAM,” explains Simon. “This new software delivers parametric furniture design in 3D and provides a direct link to the machine technology. “Immediately following the design process, production drawings and bills of

material can be created at the click of a mouse with design data automatically forwarded to Weeke BHX 050 machine. This means they are directly actuated with all the necessary parameters such as tool selection, drilling pattern, speed feed rate or approach strategy. “Regardless of whether you are working with dimensionally variable carcass furniture or complex furnishing items, such as counters, bars or reception desks, assemblies are generated in 3D complete with all their connections, processing operations and hardware. “At the same time, woodCAD|CAM creates drawings in a two or threedimensional view, including all crosssections and details for easy communication with architects and developers. “The system encompasses an integrated order and project management capability. This means planning and design data is calculated directly with material and production costs which can be read out in

various forms, such as a manufacturing cost calculation or a quotation template. “Not only is this software the modern way to produce furniture, it is also the only way forward if you want to remain competitive. WoodCAD|CAM is an extremely cost effective product and due to its modular design, customers only need purchase the parts relevant to their business. Combined with the Weeke BHX 050, they are a real powerhouse and this duo will give furniture manufacturers a real edge,” concludes Simon.
