Sustainability Technologies Sustainability Technologies at Central Carolina Community College opens the door to a variety of careers in the growing green economy. The Associate in Applied Science in Sustainability Technologies degree builds on the college’s long experience in training workers and entrepreneurs for fields that meet the demand for efficiency and the green energy economy. Certificates are also available.

Program Highlights: The Sustainability Technologies degree prepares students to

work in the renewable energy, green building, and sustainability measurement fields. Students may also choose to obtain a certificate in Biofuels Technology.

The Green Building courses consist of Construction 1 and Construction 2. Students will complete construction of a house each year. The construction program also includes architechtural drawing, green certification programs, and energy analysis.

The Renewable Energy Certificate includes training in solar PV, solar thermal, biofuels, and energy modeling.

The sustainability courses focus on the science and policy challenges and opportunities in maintaining businesses. Students focus on global issues, practical sustainability measurement for waste, transportation, energy, and water, and undertake a semester-long capstone project.
