Typography to me is the most revolutionary thing ever invented by man. This form of art and communication blends deep meaning into emotional symbols that form a word, phrase, book, or entire story of humanity. There is a art form to words as well. This art form is to take the meaning of a word and give it a visual reinforcement that only adds, or even subtracts from what the author is trying to communicate. I take great passion in this. Granted a lot of the styles I work with are nothing more than trend driven concepts, however it becomes the voice for the piece that it is being represented on. Being a Graphic Designer there is a fine line between taking advantage of trends and trying to be unique and creative at the same time. Everything we do as Graphic Designers is solely based on someone wanting to buy what we are developing. I firmly believe that Fine Artist have full creative freedom without being confined by what will work for a client and what won’t work for a client. I am a Graphic Designer, thus my whole basis for career choice is in the hands of those who can make or break me by choosing to hire or not hire me. With that said, I focus on typographical forms and do my best to maintain a standard that I have created. This is my life. Within it, I choose to
push forward and try to be good at this art form of creative stylized typography. I hope the words I have developed for various companies are good enough for my survival as a Graphic Designer, yet allowing some creative freedom to push ideas that much further. The work represented here is a collection of typographical treatments that have been developed over the past 8 or more years. I hope you enjoy this book and it becomes a great resource for inspiration.
