Inner Leadership The Path to Self-Discover y and Self Confidence Hyde School has a mission of helping students discover their unique potential. In order to become their best possible self, a person must develop • • •

an understanding of themselves the presence to speak, and the grit and confidence to go the distance when the going gets tough.

This is what Hyde School calls Inner Leadership. A student starts the journey learning the value of each of Hyde’s 5 Words that will serve as a character compass in life: Courage | Integrity | Leadership | Curiosity | Concern Students learn these through everything they are asked to do at Hyde, from academics, to sports, to performing arts, to community service, to meeting with their Discovery Groups. Hyde in turn provides a supportive community based on 5 Principles: Truth | Brother’s Keeper | Conscience | Humility | Destiny A student develops their inner leadership through • • • • •

self-awareness having confidence to speak in public tackling challenges outside their comfort zone having meaningful relationships, and understanding their family’s strengths and challenges.

These are the tools we have found that students need to be successful in life.
