ABPA’s 9th Annual Dinner Little History about ABPA: In 1991 ABPA President, Talat M. Othman announced the formation of the Arab-American Business & Professional Association as a Chicago Chapter of the Washington based organization.

In1992, it became an Independent Illinois association. A nonprofit organization, aims to assist its members in connecting with businesses in the Arab World.

On October 29, 2014, Arab American Business & Professional Association (APBA) held their ninth Annual Awards Dinner at The Rosewood Restaurant & Banquet. Program started at 7 pm where many MiddleEastern and community people joined the night in honoring Etihad Airways “an airline that has been so supportive to the Community Organizations”.

Denise Harvill, Vice President of the Central USA and her associates have been friends and generous supporters of ABPA. Also, honoring the Humanitarian Award to Steve Sosebee, President of the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund (PCRF).

Additionally, the association promotes trade and investment between the Arab Countries and the State of Illinois. Moreover, the variety of programs such as Dinners, Seminars, reception, joint programs with other business associates provide excellent networking opportunities for members and guests. Guest speak-

ers include business executives, elected officials; ambassadors update our members on the latest political, economic, and regulatory developments in the U.S. and in the Middle East.

Shoulder Pain with Dr Elborno When do you need to call us about your shoulder pain?

If you are unsure of the cause of your shoulder pain, or if you do not know the specific treatment recommendations for your condition, you should seek medical attention. Treatment of these conditions must be directed at the specific cause of your problem.

Some signs that you should be seen by a doc-

tor include: • Inability to carry objects or use the arm • Injury that causes deformity of the joint • Shoulder pain that occurs at night or while resting • Shoulder pain that persists beyond a few days • Inability to raise the arm • Swelling or significant bruising around the joint or arm • Signs of an infection, including fever, redness, warmth • Any other unusual symptoms What are the best treatments for shoulder pain?

The treatment of shoulder pain depends entirely on the cause of the problem.

Therefore, it is of utmost importance that you understand the cause of your symptoms before embarking on a treatment program. If you are unsure of your diagnosis, or the severity of your condition, you should seek medical advice before beginning any treatment.

UHLF’s 46th Annual Dinner

On Nov.22nd, 2014 the United Holy Land Fund (UHLF) held the 46th annual Fund Raising Dinner. The event took place at Hilton Hotel in Oak Lawn, IL. Doors opened 6pm and greeted with great members and staff of UHLF. Many Middle-Eastern attended and filled the banquet hall. The program has started with welcoming remarks by Roha Musa, Waleed Ghnaim, and the President of Chicago Chapter Musa Musa. They talked about the UHLF and their great achievements. With countless entertainment, cultural music, and the speaker Manuel Hassassian the night was phenomenal and Professor Hassassian attended

the night and spoke greatly about education and Palestine.

The UHLF’s event keynote speaker was Professor Manuel Sarkis Hassassian, Ambassador of Palestine to the United Kingdom. He is Armenian-Palestinian professor who since late 2005 has been the Palestinian diplomatic representative to the United Kingdom after being appointed to the position by the Palestinian Authority. Professor Hassassian served Bethlehem University and the Palestinian people with distinction for 25 years. He has been a superb representative of the University at the Ministry of Higher Education, at the Association of Arab Universities, and among other international academic organizations.
