Introduction The Spark Arts for Children have really enjoyed working with Charnwood Primary School and it is our great pleasure to present to you our My City publication. This is a collection of some of the poems that have been created by very talented children in your school. The children, who worked with Joseph Coelho, have explored the parks and playgrounds of Leicester, labeled trees with post-it note similes, found poems for the statues dotted around the city and discovered poems beating in their hearts. We have seen some fantastic, confident performances and read some creatively genius poems, all inspired by the children’s own experiences and all with Leicester at their heart. We hope you enjoy reading this collection of work. Why not write your own poem too‌.?

3 Little Kids 3 little kids always running around 3 little kids always tripping on the ground always getting bruises, always getting hurt, always hurting their little brother Bert. Staying up all night, giving each other a fright. Waking up neighbours by screaming each others names, and playing lots of games. Their parents come they’re fierce and angry, and tell the kids to come inside as they looked hungry. Omar Cetin
