At 8:00 A.M. on Saturday, June 20, 2015 the “5th Annual Juneteenth 5K Run/Walk to support the Juneteenth Festival & Three Oaks Homeless Shelter will take place. BRIEF DESCRIPTION: 5K run/walk entirely within Lancaster Park, through the disc golf course and on the paved loop around the main park area. This is a USATF Certified course MD12011JS. John G. Lancaster Park 12550 Willows Road, Lexington Park, MD 20653. Post-race refreshments. Awards to first overall male and female finishers, and top 3 males and females in the following age groups: 14-under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49,

50-59, and 60-plus. The FEE to participate in this event is $20.00 dollars. The FEE is $25.00 dollars if you register to participate on race day.

So stop by Lindblom Park to celebrate Juneteenth, the oldest known celebration commemorating the ending of slavery in the United States. The Springfield, Illinois Juneteenth Celebration is a two day event held every 3rd Saturday and Sunday of June. The celebration is held at Comer Cox Park located at South Martin Luther King Jr Drive in Springfield, Illinois 62703. The times each day are 11:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M. Activities include the annual kick-off parade down M.L.King Drive. Activities include the Marla Jean Hunter Memorial Basketball tournament,Double dutch contest and tennis clinic. Stage events include live Gospel and R&B performances, as well as praise dancers, Kareoke, and open stage.
