Initially Pennington threw his hat into the ring as a 2015 Mayoral Candidate; but withdrew due his wife Beverly suffering an illness. At this time there are two key candidates running for the Houston City Council District G seat in the Tuesday, November 3, 2015 City of Houston Mayoral Election – those candidates are: Sandie Mullins Moger and Greg Travis. THIS SEAT IS OPEN in the upcoming election.” *The Houston City Council District G Council Member serves areas in western Houston that extend along the 610 Loop between 610 and Interstate 10. Memorial, Tanglewood, and River Oaks make up a large portion of this district.

THIS SEAT IS OPEN in the upcoming election.” *The Houston City Council District H single-member council district covers some of the areas north of the 610 Loop. The larger portions of this district include the Near Northside and Northside of Houston extending to Little York Road. 2015 HCC CAMPAIGN WATCH: On Tuesday, November 3, 2015 Houston Community College (HCC) will hold an election to fill three (3) HCC Board of Trustees expiring terms in geographic districts III, VI and VIII and one (1) unexpired term in geographic district IV. The HCC School Board incumbents running for reelection are: Adriana Tamez (HCC District III), Carolyn Evans-Shabazz (HCC District IV), John Hansen (HCC District VI), Eva Loredo (HCC District VIII). *The only competitive race we know of at this time is the race for the Houston Community College (HCC) District VIII seat. In the District VIII race HCC Trustee Eva Loredo is being challenged by Art Aguilar.
