A FEW THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT GOV. MITT ROMNEY

Mitt Romney is the front-runner in the race to claim the Republican nomination in the race for President of the United States. Romney was born in Detroit on March 12, 1947. His mother, Lenore, gave up an acting career when she met and married his father. Romney married his wife, Ann, in 1969. They first met in elementary school when he was a Cub Scout; he remembers tossing pebbles at her when she rode by on a horse. When they met again years later at a friend’s house, he was smitten. Between them, they have five sons and sixteen grandchildren, who are the center of their lives. Like any family, the Romneys have faced hardship: Ann was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1998, and more recently fought a battle with breast cancer. She credits her husband’s unwavering care and devotion to her for helping her through these ordeals. Romney has spent most of his life in the private sector, giving him intimate knowledge of how our economy works. But he has also been an outstanding public servant. In one chapter of his distinguished career, he reversed the decline of a state mired in recession. In another chapter, he salvaged the 2002 Winter Olympic Games from certain disaster. When Romney was elected Governor of Massachusetts in 2002, the state was in severe disarray, its budget was out of balance, spending was soaring, and taxpayers were being required to pay more and more in taxes for diminishing services. The state economy was in a tailspin, with businesses cutting back on investment or even closing and unemployment ticking up. Mitt made hard decisions that brought state spending under control. He restructured and consolidated government programs, paring back where necessary and finding efficiencies throughout.

Facing a state legislature dominated by Democrats, Romney cast more than 800 vetoes as he brought conservative principles to state government. He cut red tape for small businesses, signed into law job-creating incentives, and fought hard to bring new businesses to the state. He eliminated a $3 billion deficit without borrowing or raising taxes. By 2007, at the end of Romney’s term, the state had accumulated a $2 billion rainy day fund in its coffers. This stringent fiscal discipline provided an essential backdrop for economic recovery. When Romney came into office, the state was losing jobs every month. his year Obama sadly went on a worldwide apology tour on behalf of this country. Since the President and I are polar opposites I embarked on my campaign for Justice of the Peace, Precinct 4, Place 1 as the official Conservative Thank You Tour. The reason I started this campaign is to put conservative values back on the bench in my community; and at the same time lift the spirits of a segment of our great country that is always under attack… Conservatives. The following letter is to all of you who fight every day to uphold the values that make this country great; and although you have been beaten down with inflammatory words like racist, sexist, greedy, etc., please know that it is your fight that helped me escape the chains of poverty and put me on a path to salvation.

Dear Conservative:

You may not know me personally; but I am one of the millions of people in this country that you helped escape poverty through your prayer, sacrifice, and refusal to give into the godless, victimization attitudes that are gaining a foothold in this country. See, fellow Conservative, I was born in the inner-city to a father who decided that he wanted nothing to do with raising a child. My mother Pearl immediately took control of the household and worked her way out of poverty. She never made excuses or blamed the government, corporations, race, or her sex on our position in life. In fact, she did the opposite, she taught me the importance of prayer, self-accountability and hard work to conquer poverty. This was my introduction to the conservative

values that would shape the rest of my life. Even when I went to fight for my country in Operation Desert Shield/Storm and Operation Provide Comfort, you welcomed me home like I was some kind of hero. I never told you, but I did not feel like a hero, I felt like I was doing something to pay my country back for all that has been done for me. It has been over two decades since I put on my battle green uniform; and yet, when I walk amongst you I always smile as you thank me for serving; and feel proud to have served my country. After the military I became a lawyer and I am now a candidate for Judge; and you are right next to me fighting to return the bench to the values that we share. You do not look at me different because of my background. You treat me no different than the man who grew up with more finances than my mom ever dreamed of having. You give me strength by reminding me that in this country everyone has the opportunity to do great things; I need this reminder as the media and some on the left try to make victims of us so that we may cower under their protection. Another thing that I love is your willingness to hold career politicians to the values that they claim to have. One example of this was on March 28, 2012, when my opponent was admonished by the State Commission on Judicial Conduct for the following violations: Judge J. Kent Adams: failed to comply with the law and demonstrated a lack of professional competence Judge J. Kent Adams was sighted as: Demonstrating a lack of patience, dignity and courtesy expected of a judge Judge J. Kent Adams created a perception of bias and prejudice

Judge J. Kent Adams acted in a manner that does not promote public confidence in the integrity and impartiality of the judiciary

The media went to great lengths to focus on racial remarks made by him; but you focused on the other complaints also that were much more troubling. Instead of circling the wagons, you showed as

a true Conservative that you refuse to stand by a Judge who could not follow his oath even if he carried the same party designation. We both understand that you recognize a Conservative by actions and deeds, not by incumbency and endorsements. I look forward to election day when I hope to be elected Justice of the Peace and take another step towards contributing to the community that has given so much to me. My fellow Republican I hope that you embrace my journey as a Conservative because it is because of you that I am who I am today, so please accept this heartfelt thanks and never stop fighting!

State Representative Dwayne Bohac is a lifelong resident of Texas House District 138. Bohac was born in Oak Forest and now lives in the Spring Branch area with his wife Dawn and their four children. Before being elected to the Texas House of Representatives, Bohac was active in the local community having founded “Save Our Neighborhoods,” Northwest Coalition, and is a long time member of the White Oaks Bayou Association and a part of the Spring Branch Revitalization Association. As State Representative, Dwayne has focused on protecting local neighborhoods and improving local quality of life according to his website. Additionally, Bohac has led the effort in the Texas House to cap property tax appraisals at 5% or less, increased funding for border security to curb illegal immigration,

and worked with local teachers and school board members to improve local schools and provide fair teacher pay. For his leadership on issues important to the state and local community, Dwayne has received numerous awards including the “Taxpayers Best Friend” from his colleagues in the Texas House; the statewide “Honor Roll” from the Parent Teacher Association (PTA); and “Best of the House” by the Combined Law Enforcement Association of Texas (CLEAT). Bohac has also been honored by the Spring Branch ISD, Houston ISD, and the West Houston Chamber of Commerce for his leadership on public education issues. Additionally, he is co-founder of the Texas House of Representative’s “Air Quality Caucus,” a bi-partisan group committed to finding clean air solutions for Houston and the rest of the state. KEVIN FULTON Kevin Fulton is a shining example of the American Dream. Born in the gritty, gang infested streets of South Central Los Angeles, Kevin never had the opportunity to meet his biological father who abandoned the household when he was only a few months old. His mother Pearl immediately took control of the household and worked her way out of poverty. Kevin watched as his mother worked long hours to provide her kids with the opportunity to escape their surroundings. After several years as a technology professional, I was elected to the Comal County Commissioners Court on November 2, 2004 and again in November 2008. I was the first African American and the youngest person to win election as a county commissioner in Comal County. I have tirelessly worked to protect our tax dollars by exposing financial mismanagement in local agencies. I have a proven record of working alongside my colleagues to keep Comal County's tax policy fair, and I am proud that our rate is one of the lowest in the state. I have worked to offer new educational benefits for county employees and to preserve land for future generations and to protect private property rights. I supported our county's clean fleet strategy and electricity reduction pilot plans. As a result of our commissioners court efforts, electricity usage is down by 11% in some of our buildings. I have worked diligently to assure that we remain competitive when it comes to energy, but at the same time I recognize the importance of conservation. Our efforts in conservation were rewarded when the "State Energy Conservation Office" recognized Comal County in 2005, 2006 and then again in 2009. Energy is a passion of mine, and I have authored many articles on a variety of energy subjects, some of which are featured on this website. Big Lead With Women Gives Obama An Edge On Romney, Quinnipiac University National Poll Finds; Christie, Rubio, Ryan Top GOP Running Mate List

President Barack Obama holds a thin 46 - 42 percent lead over former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, according to a Quinnipiac University national poll released resently. New Jersey Gov. Christopher Christie, Florida Sen. Marco Rubio and Wisconsin U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan lead the guess list for possible Romney running mates. Looking at personal characteristics, 81 percent of American voters think the president is likable, compared to 63 percent for Romney. Obama cares about their needs and problems, 57 percent say, compared to 44 percent for Romney. The Republican has strong leadership qualities, 61 percent say, compared to 60 percent for the president, the independent Quinnipiac (KWIN-uh-pe-ack) University poll of 2,577 American voters finds. Romney is seen as better on the economy 47 - 43 percent, better on creating jobs 45 - 42 percent, better on gas prices 44 - 31 percent and better on immigration 43 - 39 percent. The president is viewed 52 - 32 percent as better on women’s issues and 46 40 percent on foreign policy. The two men are seen equally on taxes and health care. “The presidential race remains tight. With Gov. Mitt Romney now the de facto Republican nominee, a look at how the two men are perceived by the electorate reflects much of the historic differences between the two parties in close elections, which this seems likely to be,” said Peter A. Brown, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute. “President Barack Obama has a big lead among women and is seen as the candidate most in tune with their needs. He is seen as more in touch with average Americans. Republican Romney seems to hold an edge on the economy - the top issue of the campaign

- and holds his own against the incumbent on being a strong leader. His opening is that by 56 - 38 percent voters disapprove of the president’s handling of the economy.” “The gender gap remains, with Obama leading among women 49 - 39 percent and trailing slightly among men 46 - 43 percent,” said Brown. “The racial gap is even wider: Romney leads 52 - 36 percent among whites, while the president is ahead among blacks 94 - 3 percent and among Hispanics 64 - 24 percent.” Obama leads among Democrats 88 - 6 percent, while Romney leads 83 - 8 percent among Republicans and 46 - 39 percent among independent voters. More voters have an unfavorable opinion of the president, 49 percent, compared to the 45 percent who view him favorably. Romney is viewed favorably by 33 percent and unfavorably by 38 percent. First Lady Michelle Obama gets a 60 22 percent favorability rating. Ann Romney gets a 25 - 9 percent favorability with 64 percent who don’t know enough about her to form an opinion. Obama gets split 47 - 48 percent overall job approval and American voters say 49 46 percent that he does not deserve a second term in the Oval Office. Asked about potential Romney running mates, Christie, by far the best known of the potential picks, runs best with 31 percent calling him a good choice compared to 18 percent saying he would be a bad choice and 49 percent with no opinion yet. Independent voters, the key voting bloc, see Christie as a good choice 33 - 18 percent. Rubio was labeled a good choice 24 14 percent overall and 27 - 14 percent among independents, while Ryan has similar numbers, 23 - 17 percent good choice overall and 25 - 17 percent among independents. For other possible running mates, the “no opinion” count is 64 percent or higher. “Even Gov. Christopher Christie evokes a ‘no opinion’ from half the electorate, with Ryan and Rubio even more so. Other potential running mates who did not rate as highly as the three leaders are quite unknown. In December 2006, the Coalition for the Homeless of Houston and Harris County recognized my work in making our Courts accessible. The Coalition named me their Government Friend of the Homeless Award for developing and implementing Houston’s Homeless Recovery Court, the first such Court in the State of Texas. The Homeless Court allows people who are working through programs at various homeless shelters to clear up delinquent traffic tickets and other Class C misdemeanor warrants by performing community service at their shelters. Lane Lewis is the current Harris County Democratic Party Chairman. He was elected unanimously in December 2011. Lewis has dedicated his life to serving the people of Houston. The proud son of a teacher and factory supervisor in Pasadena, Texas, Lane understood from an early LEWIS age the value of hard work and helping others. Lewis began his career of service as a licensed Social Worker in Houston. He discovered a passion for helping others during his first job in the field, working with adolescents. The youth he worked with struggled with poverty, abuse, abandonment, drugs and alcohol. In 2009, after serving as elementary school teacher, Lewis unsuccessfully ran for Houston City Council in District A. Lewis began serving as the Chair for Senate District 15 in 2009. In that capacity he led his Senate District in implementing a program called “24 15.” This field intensive program relied on paid and volunteer phone banks over many weeks, aimed at talking to potential Democratic voters. This program was a huge success and is a testament to Lane’s experience as a grassroots organizer and someone that is willing to go the extra mile to see Democrats elected. Lewis has a compelling vision for the Harris County Democratic Party. From 2005 to 2011 Missouri City’s overall property tax base increased from 15% to 25% thanks to the hard work of Mayor Allen Owen and others. Gessner) and the Lakeview Business Park (just off Buffalo run at Fondren) are part of the reason for the 25% increase in Missouri City’s tax base according to Mayor Owen.

they would be starting construction on (2) two more specs totaling over 200,000 square foot of space. 3): Star Precision Fabricating, bought 10 acres on S. Gessner and within a couple of years will construct a 100,000 square foot building; completed construction of a 30,000 square foot facility on that property, for Royalty Metal Finishing — one of their suppliers, who employs about 25 workers. 4): Last December, Mayor Allen Owen announced that CookieBaker LLC bought 22 acres at the corner of S. Gessner & Cravens Rd. and has plans to construct a 267,000 square foot bakery production/warehouse at that location. The total investment will be over $40M and initially employ 110 and increase to over 300 as production increases.

What’s going on at Lakeview Business Park (Buffalo Run at Fondren) area of Missouri City:

1): Southwest Electronic Energy purchased 5 acres and started construction on their 52,000 square foot office/manufacturing facility for their new headquarters. Southwest Electronic Energy is a company that designs and assembles Lithium-ion batteries. This company is relocating from Stafford and will initially employ about 75 employees. 2): Warren Alloy & Fittings recently purchased a 152,000 square foot building along with 5 acres and will relocate their stainless steel pipe, fittings and flange business from Houston. They’re bringing about 120 new jobs to Missouri City. Warren Alloy & Fittings’ inventory alone is valued at more than $65 million dollars. 3): Allied Fittings, the sister company of Warren Alloy & Fittings, also purchased 31 acres next door to the location that was purchased by Warren Allow & Fittings and within a couple of years will start construction on a 350,000 square foot office/distribution facility. Allied Fittings is a distributor of carbon steel pipes, fittings and flanges. They will be bringing about 200 jobs to Missouri City when construction is completed. Allied Fittings’ inventory is valued at more than $70 million dollars. 4): Mayor Allen Owen is currently working with a prospect that has 41 acres under contract and has plans to construct a 320,000 square foot office/warehouse facility at that location. This prospect would employ over 200 workers when their construction is completed. The Inventory of this particular prospect is valued at more than $109 million dollars. 5): The city of Missouri City currently has a new “City Community Center” under construction. This two-story 25,000 square foot facility with a 2nd floor ballroom that will seat over 300 persons is expected to be completed very soon. 6): The city of Missouri City also has a new “Tennis and Recreation Center” under construction at the Old Quail Valley Tennis Center is being designed by community input; and will have 12 tennis courts. This fine facility will also some equipped with a gym, fitness rooms, batting cages, meeting rooms, basketball courts, and much more. The new Missouri City “Tennis and Recreation Center is expected to be completed over the next few months.

Gospel star Donald Lawrence recently made an announcement that he was battling cancer while performing at a post-game concert for the NBA's Memphis Grizzlies. According to a report on the Yolanda Adams morning show, during the concert, Lawrence introduced the audience to some of his singer as he sang the song 'Not Making Sense, Making Faith,' he revealed his battle with cancer. According to the report, Lawrence explained that this was the first time in 3 months that he had performed, because he is currently seeking cancer treatment in Los Angeles. Lawrence said that he disconnected from everybody, and put his faith in God testifying that today there is no sign of cancer in his body. American Voters Say Happy Days Aren't Quite Here, Quinnipiac University National Poll Finds; Voters Approve Of Detroit Bailout

The surge of economic optimism may have stalled as American voters say 41 - 35 percent they are worse off financially than four years ago, and 51 percent don't expect their personal financial situation to change in the next 12 months, while 32 percent expect it to get better and 13 percent expect it to get worse, according to a Quinnipiac University poll released recently. Voters say 68 - 27 percent the economy is in a recession, but say 53 - 43 percent it has begun to recover, the independent Quinnipiac (KWINuh-pe-ack) University poll finds. The U.S. Supreme Court should overturn the 2010 health care law, voters say 49 - 38 percent. And voters say 62 - 27 percent the Supreme Court should uphold Arizona's immigration law. By 53 - 41 percent voters approve of the government bailout of the auto industry and believe the bailout has been a success 50 - 38 percent. Democrats approve of the bailout 78 - 17 percent while Republicans disapprove 59 - 34 percent. Independent voters split 49 - 46 percent. "A small majority of American voters think the economy is improving, but the groundswell of optimism we saw in recent months seems to have

hit a wall," said Peter A. Brown, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute. "Last October, voters said 77 - 20 percent the country was in recession. By February public opinion was rosier with voters saying 66 - 30 percent the country was in recession, a solid positive move. "But now, voters say 68 - 27 percent, we are in a recession. The momentum has slowed if not reversed. Similarly, in September voters said 68 28 percent the economy was NOT beginning to recover which turned to 54 - 43 percent in February that it WAS beginning to recover. But now that number has stalled with voters saying 53 43 the economy has begun to recover." Democrats, who tend to have lower incomes than Republicans, say 51 - 23 percent they are better off than four years ago. They are worse off, Republicans say 55 - 24 percent and independent voters say 46 - 32 percent. African-Americans, who as a group have lower incomes than whites, say 55 - 21 percent they are better off. Hispanics also say they are better off 40 - 35 percent, while whites say worse off 46 - 31 percent. "It is symbolic of the yawning political divide in this country that even when asked about their financial situation many voters seem to see the answer through a political prism involving their views about Barack Obama's presidency," said Brown. "It is a reasonable presumption that folks for the president see a need to say they have done better to show support for the president - no matter what they have in their wallet. Those who are anti-Obama feel a need to say he has hurt them financially - even if they're on the upper side of the income scale." Asked about the next 12 months, Democrats say 40 - 7 percent, Republicans 23 - 17 percent and independents 32 - 14 percent that things will get better for them in the next year. Optimistic are black voters 59 - 6 percent, whites 27 - 14 percent and Hispanics 41 - 8 percent. American voters give the Supreme Court a 52 - 31 percent job approval rating, higher than approval ratings for President Obama or for Democrats or Republicans in Congress. Democrats want the high court to uphold the health care law 70 - 16 percent. The court should overturn it, Republicans say 80 - 9 percent and independent voters say 55 - 33 percent. On immigration, there is a smaller partisan divide and Hispanic voters are divided as 45 percent want the court to uphold the Arizona law while 43 percent want the law overturned. From April 11 - 17, Quinnipiac University surveyed 2,577 registered voters with a margin of error of +/- 1.9 percentage points. Komen Will Fund Planned Parenthood Affiliates Susan G. Komen for the Cure has announced that it plans to fund at least seventeen Planned Parenthood affiliates in 2012, roughly the same number that received grants from Komen last year, the LESLIE AUN Washington Post reports. The announcement comes at a time when the two women's health organizations are working to repair their relationship, which was badly damaged after Komen said it would defund Planned Parenthood affiliates amid an inquiry launched by Rep. Cliff Stearns (R-FL) to determine whether the reproductive health care provider was using public funds to pay for abortion services. Although Komen quickly reversed its decision following a torrent of criticism from women and Planned Parenthood supporters, the backlash resulted in fundraising losses and a number of high-profile resignations at Komen affiliates around the country. The total amount to be awarded by Komen has not been announced, but Planned Parenthood has said that nineteen of its seventy-nine affiliates received a total of about $680,000 from the breast cancer charity in 2011. Because not all Komen affiliates begin their fiscal year

on April 1, additional grants may be announced over the next few months. "We know that people have been upset and concerned about recent events," Komen spokeswoman Leslie Aun told the Post. "We've acknowledged our missteps and apologized. People need to know that we have not and never will walk away from women in need. There is no one filling the gap in services the way that Komen is." Republicans Launching Effort to Loosen Democratic Grip On African American Voters

According to a recently released poll by Quinnipiac University President Barack Obama has a stunning 94-3 lead over Mitt Romney among blacks. However, the Republican National Committee is launching a "black Americans" outreach program as part of their "strategic partnerships" initiative aimed at courting groups that have traditionally leaned Democratic according to a recent CNN report by Peter Hamby. This new website is slated to feature testimonials from some of the party's most prominent black elected officials, including Florida Rep. Allen West, South Carolina Rep. Tim Scott and Florida Lt. "I don't care if they are a mosquito sprayer or a dog catcher in Arizona, or Jennifer Carroll or Allen West. We have black conservative leaders who stand for their principles." She said the concerns of African American voters are chiefly economic. "We need to explain our values to them," Day told CNN. "To be honest with you, their values and our values are more similar than dissimilar. They are not Democratic values, they are Republican values." THE TEXAS REPUBLICAN PARTY

Today’s Texas Republican Party was founded in 1854 by a group of Mid-Western abolitionists opposed to the Kansas-Nebraska Bill, which allowed a choice of slavery in the new territories of Kansas and Nebraska. Texas, which had become a state in 1845, was right in the middle of the heated slavery controversy. Most state leaders were Democrats prior to the Civil War, and thus supported the pro-slavery Confederacy. But President Abraham Lincoln, the first Republican president, gained the support of Texas Republicans and several prominent state leaders, like Sam Houston, Texas’ first Governor. However, most of those who decided to support Lincoln’s decision to defend the Union were forced from office, and Democrats succeeded in allying Texas with the Confederacy. The effects of the Civil War and its aftermath would be felt for more than a century throughout the South, and especially in Texas. For its first two generations, Texas had known only honor, victory and valor. Though Texans never lost a battle at home during the Civil War, the Union army under orders from a Republican President marched in and occupied the Lone Star State after the Confederacy surrendered. For the first time, Texas would not be victorious. The next four generations of Texans would not forgive the Republican Party. INFORMATION

African American were the Major Supporters of the Republican Party of Texas in the beginning

African Americans were one group of Texans that would consistently support the Republican Party in Texas in those early years. In fact, throughout Reconstruction, African Americans comprised about 90% of GOP membership, and 44 African Americans served in the Texas legislature as Republicans. It was through the hard work of a number of dedicated African American men and women that the earliest foundations of the Republican Party of Texas were laid. The first ever state Republican convention that met in Houston on July 4, 1867 was predominantly African American in composition, with about 150 African American Texans attending, and 20 Anglos. The second State GOP Chairman, Norris Wright Cuney, an African-American from Galveston who led the Republican Party from 1883 to 1897, is said by State historians to have held “the most important political position given to a black man of the South in the nineteenth century.” PROFILES

Sharon Day was elected Co-Chair of the Republican National Committee on January 14, 2011. From 2009-2011, she served as RNC Secretary. She has served the Republican Party at the local, state and national level for more than 20 years. Sharon has built several businesses in the insurance and marketing industry, creating jobs for hundreds of individuals and families. She has used that private sector success in the political arena working for candidates, committees and groups that believe in the power of small businesses and the free market system. Sharon has been a member of the Broward County, Florida Republican Executive committee since 1994 and State SHARON DAY Committeewoman from Broward County since 1996. On January 14th, 2011, Anthony W. Parker was elected Treasurer of the Republican National Committee. On January 14th, 2011, Demetra DeMonte, Republican National Committeewoman for Illinois, was elected Secretary of the Republican National Committee. Demetra is a strong leader who has worked in nearly every position in state party leadership, including Precinct Committeeman, County Vice-Chair, County Chair, State Central Committee- DeMONTE man, and National Committeewoman. Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Foundation Awards $4 Million for Childhood Obesity Prevention Efforts

Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Harvard Pilgrim Health Care, has announced grants and technical assistance totaling $4 million to organizations working to combat childhood obesity and health disparities in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Maine. Through its Growing Up Healthy initiative, the foundation awarded three-year, $1.5 million grants to ChildObesity180 in Boston and MaineHealth in Portland to expand campaigns that promote healthier environments and lifestyles for young people. ChildObesity180, which is led by researchers at Tufts University's Friedman School of Nutrition SCHULTZ Science and Policy, will use its grant for an outof-school time nutrition and physical activity initiative, while MaineHealth will use the funds to expand a childhood obesity prevention initiative to more than one hundred and ninety primary care physicians and fourteen hospitals. The foundation also contributed $1 million in technical assistance and consultation services over three years through its Culture InSight program, which supports healthcare organizations and professionals working to improve care for populations and communities affected by health disparities. The recipients are the NH Health & Equity Partnership, which is coordinated by the Concord-based Foundation for Healthy Communities; Health Resources in Action and Neighborhood Health Plan in Boston; Advocates, Inc. in Framingham, Massachusetts; and the Hanley Center in Portland. On Friday, February 10, 2012 a Harris County Grand jury declined to indict Constable May Walker on criminal charges being alleged against the embattled Precinct 7 constable. But does that mean she was innocent of the charges and accusations alleged against her? “That’s a good question,” says Hubbard. “A person could be guilty as sin, and not have criminal charges brought against them for various reasons,” Hubbard explains. “That doesn’t mean they’re innocent – it simply means they may have been let off the hook for whatever reason,” says Hubbard. “In the story recently published in the Houston Chronicle, Constable May Walker was described as ‘being thankful, relieved and contrite’ by her defense attorney Chip Lewis; and she should be,” says Hubbard. In the aforementioned article (written by Brian Rogers in the Houston Chronicle), attorney Chip Lewis also stated that there were no allegations or inferences that Constable May Walker personally benefited from her office, but rather, that it was ‘administrative missteps’ that landed her in trouble with the law. Lewis also claimed, Constable May Walker has made the necessary changes, including ending the raffle; and is trying to get permission to conduct legal drawings according to the article.

I would just like to know how Constable May Walker managed to escape indictment; and what the grand jury considered. But we will perhaps never get the answers to these questions,” he says. “Grand juries have a difficult job to do; and I understand that. But the bad thing about this whole matter is: since there were no charges filed against Constable May Walker; and the fact the grand jury proceedings were done in secrecy; we don’t even know what the investigation into Constable May Walker involved,” explains Hubbard.

Sergeant Leon Hubbard will establish a more active and effective “WARRANT DIVISION” at OUR Precinct 7 Constables office. Sergeant Leon Hubbard will re-establish a dependable “CIVIL DIVISION” so citizens who receive civil citations will be served expeditiously and have their day in court in order to prevent default judgments being levied against them.
