They offer a journey through Mozart’s amazing musical development and range from the utterly charming to the heart-rendingly emotional. Schumann Kinderszenen Schumann Kreisleriana Schubert Impromptus Op 90 & 142 A fantastic debut for Perth Piano Sundays. One of the great musicians of the last 30 years Viktoria Postnikova performs worldwide in all major halls and concert series. She is an extraordinary pianist whose performances of great music by Schumann and Schubert will light up Perth Concert Hall. 24 Preludes Piano Sonata
The oldest member of the extraordinary Kanneh-Mason family Isata is a brilliant pianist in her own right. She was in the Piano Category Final of the BBC Young Musician 2014, winning the Walter Todds Bursary for the most promising musician before the Grand Final and since then has been forging a substantial solo career with recent performances at King’s Place in London at the Bath Festival. Her programme contrasts Chopin’s exhilarating etudes with Barber’s remarkable piano sonata. Premiered by Horowitz the piece is a pianistic showpiece but also contains more reflective sections which underline Barber’s status as perhaps the greatest American Composer of the last century.
