we are getting pink crazy on our recent blog post inspired by Shirley MacLaine

For the home page of the Black Lace Clothing website I wanted to create a layout that could be refreshed and updated on a weekly basis to share the l a t e s t t r e n d s , I n s t a g r a m ’s , l o o k b o o k s e t c . T h e features shown above include the latest Black Lace Clothing blog post which was featured on Shirley M a c L a i n e w h o ’s s t y l e i n s p i r e d a r e c e n t g a r m e n t created by the Black Lace Clothing team, that leads onto another feature of the website, ‘what have we been making recently?’. This will share the chance to show recent garments to possible customers and p o s s i b l y g e n e r a t e s a l e s . T h e c o l o u r t h e m e ’s c h o s e n were based on the logo design as well as our target audience, I want the consumer to instantly know this is a website aimed to women, somebody who dresses a little bit individual and likes stand out from the crowd. I think the pattern of the repeated logo shows how bold the brand is yet with the pastel shades isn’t too much. I have included a small section to link each of our social networking links to, something quick and easy to for the audience to see.

about us

Black Lace Clothing is a new and upcoming brand creating the finest quality garments in bespoke clothing. We would describe our brand as chic and elegant, something that is perfect for any fashion conscious woman of today. We as a company are hoping to change the views on todayâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s throwaway fashion for good, whilst making sure we never supplement the trends in doing so. Not only do we provide readymade garments in store as well as online but we offer a made to measure service to (unfortunately this is currently only in store) . We create our garments in both these manufacture ways to ensure we can accommodate for any design that any customer could possibly wish for, whether that be occasion wear or just something smart for the office.

For the about us page I wanted to keep all the focus on the text, however I did not want to include too much writing as a consumer would simply not read it. Instead of writing endless information about the c o m p a n y, I â&#x20AC;&#x2122; v e k e p t b o t h i n f o r m a t i o n p a g e s q u i t e short and sweet, just highlighting what we do and why we do it.

We aim to offer something completely new when it comes to bespoke garments and what they stand for. Black Lace Clothing does not want to be thought of for just a one off prom dress purchase; instead we hope to prove to women just how different clothing can not only make you look but actually make you feel no matter what the occasion. With this in mind we want to help stop the idea of just buying something to wear once, disposable fashion is basically promoting quick threw together garments, something we do not support. We want our clothing to be both environmentally and culturally friendly, meaning our brand will never be seen associated to any sweatshop made garment, instead focusing on British well-made garments.

Firstly the offer of either made to measure or ready to wear garments been an option is something quite different. A lot of dressmakers usually sell what they have already made with no alternatives, however by offering the either or service we can accommodate what it is exactly each customer wants.

Secondly is the option of ‘Back To Black Lace’, this is a service specifically created for made to measure garments. Usually once a dressmaker has created a garment for a customer and the final payment has been taken there is no refund offered as the client has confirmed they are happy with a payment. However Black Lace Clothing doesn’t like the idea of a customer being up happy and not wanting to wear the garment, this is why we offer ‘Back To Black Lace’. This service means if anything needed changing, fixing, shortening etc. it will be done free of charge within a month of the sale date, (after a month any changes would need to be paid for). We have created this idea as we do not wish for a garment to just be worn once and put in a dust bag, instead why not offer a customer the chance to change a bespoke made dress into a two piece skirt suit if it means then will wear it more and gain a lot more from their purchase. Not only will this service allow customers to feel confident when buying from us but also the individuality of the businesses values. Last but not least the height of quality assurance in each of the garments would be a unique selling point to Black Lace Clothing.

As the about us page was quite brief I decided to create a ‘our vision’ page to. This is to explain a bit more about how we make the garments and our unique selling points (these including Back to Black Lace). However if a consumer would be interested in reading more about the company then I would link them to the blog and feature an entire blog post about how the brand was created and what makes us d i f f e r e n t / n e w, k i d o f a ‘ o u r s t o r y ’ s t y l e p o s t .

This is an example of what any sale page on the website would consist of. I would include a clear picture of the garment with the style name along with the price. Below the brief product information I have created two o p t i o n s ‘ S e e M o re ’ o r ‘ A d d t o B a s k e t ’ . If the customer decided to instantly add to their basket this would take them to another page at which they could read specific detail of the garment as well as choosing a suited size& delivery option. For the ‘See More’ option a similar page would b e s h o w n j u s t m i n u s t h e d e l i v e r y c o s t i n g ’s , t h i s would also allow the customer to choose sizing and specific details before adding to their basket and straight to a delivery/payment page.

Black lace clothingâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s weekly inspiration; Shirley MacLaine.

Earlier this a client came into our London store to see if we could create something similar to the unforgettable pink coat worn by Shirley Mac Laine in the film What a Way to Go! (1964). We love just this example of just how extravagant outerwear can be. I have included an example blog post within the website to alert customers that Black Lace Clothing also uses blogspot, on here I would not post just about new things to b u y f r o m t h e c o m p a n y b u t f a s h i o n i n s p i r a t i o n s , w h a t ’s o n trend, behind the scene style features as well as any customer content. This could be added by customer sending in photographs of them wearing Black Lace Clothing product through any social network site as well as email. I think this could create an incentive for customers to want to buy from us as it could be seen as a ‘five minutes of fame’ almost like when newspapers include street style or outfit of the day features. By containing a blog, it could give Black Lace Clothing the opportunity to work with bloggers in the future. Fashion bloggers give brands the opportunity to gain not only profits but dedicated customers to, prime examples of this would be Missguided or Boohoo, bloggers who have a huge fan following can often be seen wearing a product or an accessory from a brand/ post it online and instantly followers want to know where they can purchase it for t h e m s e l v e s . In terms of contacting a brand I have not only included email, address, telephone number etc. but the many platforms of social media too. Nowadays it is quite unlikely for a customer to phone up to ask about stock detail or just an enquiry as it is much easier to write a quick tweet whilst on their timeline or comment on a I n s t a g r a m q u i t e . Te c h n o l o g y m e a n s b r a n d s n e e d to be available on all platforms especially when aiming to a younger generation.
