Research Services is a function of the Knowledge and Innovation Department and consists of five divisions: Contracts, Technical Services, Digital Solutions, Research Services and Competitive Intelligence. Our data teams are an information engine for the firm, providing internal and external research and data to support client work, business development, marketing and decision-making. The Research Services team works with every section, practice, industry group and team within the firm, as well as with all business services departments. CONTRACTS
TECHNICAL SERVICES
The Research Services Contracts team helps to manage the tracking, calendaring, assessment, negotiation and execution of all library contracts. In partnership with Research Services senior leadership, the Contracts team acts as the steward of the firm’s library resources, working to ensure that all subscriptions are rightsized and purchased at the most favorable prices. The Contracts team works closely with firm procurement to ensure that all contract terms are in line with firm best practices.
The Technical Services team is an operations arm of Research Services. Technical Services manages the firm’s physical and electronic library resources, including all of the recordkeeping, credentialing, updating, troubleshooting and invoice processing of these resources. Technical Services also manages copyright compliance with resource and subscription terms, as well as the firm’s physical print collection and library spaces across all offices.
The Digital Solutions team is a technologyand innovation-focused branch of Research Services, managing the research team’s intranet, knowledge base, Electronic Resource Management (ERM) system, and SAML/SSO and API implementation projects. Working with other departments, the team ensures that existing research tools and technology are successfully integrated within the firm and perform as expected. Overall, Digital Solutions identifies, plans and deploys new technologybased library solutions that advance strategic organizational and firmwide goals.

COMPETITIVE INTELLIGENCE
The Research Services team supports the information needs of attorneys and business professionals, providing legal, corporate and practice-specific research. Typically thought of as the “library,” our information professionals provide guidance on research strategy, suggest appropriate resources, and facilitate alert and current awareness tracking. Research team members are partnered with practice groups to proactively support practices, industries and teams.
The Competitive Intelligence team supports the firm’s marketing and business development research needs. Competitive Intelligence provides reporting and analysis in response to specific target opportunities. This research includes analysis at the individual, company and industry levels. Additionally, Competitive Intelligence develops strategic reports leveraging internal and external data to help address challenges faced by the firm and its attorneys.
