Office of Residence Life Room Selection 2019 Sophomores

Dear Sophomores: Room Selection 2019 is quickly approaching! Procedures are in place for this important process, which allows you to select your residence hall room for next year. With your help, we can make the room selection process as easy and convenient as possible for all students. To be eligible to receive a room assignment for the 2019-2020 academic year, you must: 1) Clear up any outstanding balances with the Office of Student Financial Services 2) Register full time for the fall 2019 semester 3) Pay a $300 housing deposit 4) Update your Housing Application online (prior to selecting a room) 5) Meet all other deadlines and eligibility requirements outlined on our website, hofstra.edu/reslife

Sunday, March 3

Deadline to submit $300 housing deposit to participate in Homesteading, Relocated Student Housing, Themed Living Community, and Gender-Inclusive Housing Room Selection. (See descriptions below.)

Monday, March 4– Wednesday, March 6

Homesteading (process to keep current living accommodations unless otherwise notified by the Office of Residence Life that the current space cannot be homesteaded). Rooms must be filled to capacity.

Thursday, March 7

Relocated Student Room Selection (process to select new living accommodations for students notified that they cannot retain current room due to housing configuration changes).

Friday, March 8

Themed Living Community and Gender-Inclusive Housing Room Selection.

Sunday, March 10

Priority deadline to submit $300 housing deposit to participate in the General Room Selection Process.

Sunday, March 17

Sophomore registration for fall 2019 classes.

Wednesday, March 27– Friday, April 5

Sophomore General Room Selection Process.

Wednesday, May 1

Deadline to cancel fall 2019 housing assignment and request a refund of the $300 housing deposit.

Friday, May 24

Deadline to register for the fall 2019 semester; students not registered for the fall 2019 semester may be removed from their fall housing assignment. 80046:10/18
