Zarb undergraduate students finished second, with a 33.81 percent return, in the first competition of the Adirondack Cup, and were among only a few teams that outperformed the Russell 2000 during this period. The Adirondack Cup is a small-cap, stock investment competition sponsored by the Adirondack Small Cap Mutual Fund. A total of 18 colleges and universities in New York and New England participated in the cup, and each team was challenged to manage a hypothetical $1 million portfolio, made up of five small-cap companies from different sectors of the Russell 2000 index. A networking and celebration reception was held in Albany, New York, on April 19, 2012, for all team members. Dr. Edward Zychowicz was the faculty advisor.
