D’Souza’s Swiss Surprise
Fourteen-year-old Leon D’Souza has been rewarded for his fine play during the 2012 EFG Bank – HKGA Junior Tour season with a stay at a summer camp at one of Switzerland’s top boarding schools. St George’s School in Montreux will host D’Souza, who claimed the EFG Bank Order of Merit last year, for two weeks, during which time he will take part in a range of sporting activities as well as French and German language classes.
D’Souza, seen here receiving his prize from Alice Lonfat-Chu of St George’s, EFG Bank’s Robert Chiu and HKGA Chief Executive Iain Valentine during last month’s EFG Bank Junior Annual Dinner, has been a long time member of the HKGA’s junior squad and has represented the territory in a number of international events, including the R&A’s prestigious Junior Open. For over 80 years, St George’s School, which lies perched on the shores of Lake Geneva, has aimed to combine its well-structured, traditional ethos with academic excellence in an international environment. The summer camp focuses on these core values as well as providing an overall environment of fun. The main themes of the camp is developing language skills, leadership, and teamwork for boys and girls from 10-17 years old. “It’s going to be a great experience, and I’d like to thank St George’s School for giving me this opportunity,” said D’Souza, who finished in a credible tie for 17th at the Hong Kong Close Amateur Championship in February. Winchester Prevails for Spring Ladies Win

Winchester, seen here with the club’s general manager, Casper Schonfeldt, scored 27 stableford points over the Diamond/Jade combination of courses to claim the title by just a point from junior CarrieAnn Lee.
