HISTORIC MACON TO HOST 19TH BIENNIAL DECORATORS’ SHOWHOUSE MACON, Ga. — Historic Macon Foundation’s 19th biennial Decorators’ Showhouse will feature a beautiful historic home and the talents of area decorators. This year’s featured home at 1120 Georgia Ave. dates back to the 1890s and has been undergoing rehabilitation. The event will feature 16 expert decorators, some of whom have been involved with the Showhouse for more than a decade. Several decorators also participated in Historic Macon’s Idea House in September 2012. The Top Hat Gala will take place on April 17 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. and gives guests the first opportunity to view the professionally decorated home. The gala will be held at the Woodruff House, 988 Bond St., while the Showhouse is open. A NewTown trolley will run between the two locations throughout the evening. A catered dinner and open bar are included. Advance reservations are required. The Showhouse will be open for daily tours April 18–28. Tour times are as follows: Mondays through Thursdays, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays, 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Sundays, 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Tour admission is $18/person in advance and $20 at the door.
