HISTORIC MACON YOUNG PATRONS TO HOST THEIR FIRST IDEA HOUSE MACON, Ga. — The Young Patrons of Historic Macon Foundation are proud to announce their first event for Historic Macon: the Idea House. This event will feature young, local decorators at 1116 Ash St., one of Historic Macon’s recently rehabilitated Beall’s Hill homes. The decorators will focus on small-space living ideas and showcase budget-friendly furnishings, do-it-yourself décor and up-cycled items from Historic Macon’s flea market. The Idea House will kick off with a preview party on Oct. 4 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Mercer University’s W.G. Lee Alumni House (1270 Ash St.) while the Idea House is open for tours. The Idea House will be open for weekend tours on Oct. 6 and 13 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Oct. 7 and 14 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Admission to the preview party is $25 for Historic Macon members, $30 for nonmembers and $35 for all at the door. Advance reservations preferred. Admission to weekend tours is $12 per person per tour. Registration is online at www.historicmacon.org/idea-house. Sponsorships are also available for $100 and include admission for two to the preview party and one weekend tour. Sponsors are invited to attend a pre-party ribbon-cutting and champagne toast. Sponsor names will also be included in event materials. The new Young Patron membership level opened in May 2012 and allows those ages 21–39 a chance to get involved with Historic Macon at a discounted rate. A new committee was also formed for Young Patrons to plan and execute events, fundraising efforts and other missionrelated activities.
