35TH ANNUAL HISTORIC MACON FLEA MARKET TO BE BIGGEST SALE YET MACON, Ga. — For the past 35 years, Historic Macon’s annual flea market has given Maconites the chance to find great deals on fantastic items. This year’s flea market will be the biggest sale yet, as there are so many items that they are overflowing into a second space. Donations are collected year-round and are stored in an 8,000-square-foot warehouse in the Northeast Plaza Shopping Center. This year, Historic Macon has received more donations than 8,000 square feet can hold, and an additional space in the shopping center is being used as a furniture showroom. The flea market has more than a dozen sections with everything from antiques and furniture to electronics, children's toys and holiday items. A new section will feature items that were repurposed and up-cycled by young, local decorators for Historic Macon’s recent Idea House. The sale will take place Oct. 20 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is free and open to the public. The flea market is located in two spaces in the Northeast Plaza Shopping Center at 658 and 668 Shurling Drive. Both are to the right of Rose’s Discount Store and are on either side of the police precinct. A members-only preview party will be held on Oct. 19 from 6 to 9 p.m. and will include NuWay catering, beer and wine. Historic Macon members pay $25 to attend and have the first chance to purchase items. Non-members can join at the door to attend the party.
