5A opener against a highly talented Viking team, head coach Scott Ford changed his game plan and surprised Pace by running wild for 252 yards on 35 carries. “We’ve been known in the past for not so good of a defense and our plan worked tonight,” said Ford. McAllen Memorial drops from the preseason number one spot to No.6 after losing to Brownsville Pace 54-35.
