Deneuve proves herself more than worthy of the tribute, delivering a deeply compassionate portrayal of a mature woman who chooses one last shot at love and happiness over a lifetime of nostalgia and regret.

Presented by Honolulu Community College's Student Media Board, this special screening of TWENTY FEET FROM STARDOM will be held at Honolulu Community College and will be FREE to the public. The screening will be held on the lawn in the center of the campus. Event begins at 6PM with food and pre-show entertainment, screening begins at 7:30PM. What would a pop song be without the riffs, refrains, and harmonies of its backup vocalists? Although these singers are usually relegated to the margins, and few, if any, become household names, their work has defined countless songs that remain in our hearts and collective consciousness. TWENTY FEET FROM STARDOM juxtaposes interviews with industry legends (Bruce Springsteen, Bette Midler, and others) and the relative unknowns who support them like Darlene Love, Merry Clayton, Lisa Fischer, and Judith Hill (currently on "The Voice") as they illuminate the art of melding their own distinct voices with lead vocals and reveal their desires for careers as solo artists.

As he contemplates death, his wife stirs memories of the past. Tanaka Yoshiro studied the Japanese tea ceremony and became one of the great influences on its traditions. An exponent of the "wabi" style of ceremony, Tanaka, under the name "Soeki", came to the attention of Oda Nobunaga who appointed him tea master. When Oda dies and power passed to Hideyoshi, Soeki is ennobled with the name "Rikyu". But Hideyoshi is a jealous, paranoid ruler, and the object of Hideyoshi's obsession is connected with Rikyu's youth.

One hundred years after the death of Tenshin Okakura, director Katsuya Matsumura pays tribute to this legendary artistic leader considered the "father" of Japanese modern art. Born in 1863, Okakura Tenshin became a well-known government official and an artistic leader. He was also a man of international perspective; he published “The Book of Tea” in English and introduced Japanese and other East Asian cultures and art to westerners. TENSHIN follows the great Okakua Tenshin as he establishes himself as a trailblazer in the art world who ultimately lead to the development of modern Japanese art in the Meiji era (a period during which dramatic westernization took place).
