HydX General design considerations
All lubrication systems are designed to secure trouble free operation.
The oil is filtered and cooled before it is distributed to the lubrication point.
Helical rotor pumps, helical gear pumps and screw pumps ensure low pulsation and quiet operation. Filtration of the oil to a sufficient level of cleanliness.
Standby pumps and duplex filters can be included in the design to minimize costly maintenance stops. Pumps are mounted vertically outside the oil tank for easy maintenance.
Oil tank design ensures that entrapped air is dissipated from the oil to avoid foaming.

Lubricating telescopes – the most advanced application?
We have significant experience of the most advanced application of lubrication for hydrostatic bearings. Reflecting telescopes have a weight of up to 500 tons and demand extreme precision when tracking stars that are many light years from our own solar system. High viscosity oils are essential for this application and it has lead us to a state-ofthe-art competence in this application field. The new generation of telescopes that are soon to be built will have a weight of 5000 tons and it’s our task to make sure that they float frictionless on a thin film of oil. The know-how and competence demanded High viscosity oil experience has opened new application fields to us, as we have the knowhow and competence to select the components for building a lubrication unit for even the most demanding lubrication duties.
