ABOUT HELP MUSICIANS UK Help Musicians UK is the country’s leading independent music charity providing help, support and opportunities to empower musicians at all stages of their lives. Music is a wonderful gift, but a musician’s life can be tough and many need help at times to get out of difficulty. To many we are a vital lifeline, and we need your support. ABOUT SONGCYCLE Opera star Nicky Spence is leading a team of opera singers in a SongCycle, riding from Glasgow on Sunday 24 July to London on Sunday 31 July, with the aim of raising over £25k in aid of HMUK. He will be calling on the support of friends along the route, stopping at key cities such as Newcastle, Manchester, and Birmingham, and would love your help to ensure he reaches his fundraising target. THE ROLE We need regional volunteers along the SongCycle route to help promote this ambitious challenge event and engage with the local public to maximise fundraising potential. Using your local knowledge, you will promote the event locally through social media and with posters in suitable venues. When the cyclists arrive into your city you will encourage public support of their arrival. You will be an advocate for Help Musicians UK and, depending on the city, may assist with any specific event tasks such as help setting up a venue and welcoming guests. SKILLS You will need to be: Confident in engaging with members of the public Engaged with Help Musicians UK Friendly, reliable and punctual You will gain: Experience of assisting in a challenge event Being a part of a wider music community Support from a dedicated member of staff
