Dear Future Home Buyer

Dear Future Homeowner,

Welcome to our home! We appreciate you taking a look around and considering moving into this wonderful neighborhood. We moved into Kenilworth II 5 ½ years ago and I remember it like it was yesterday. Our first night here Mr. & Mrs. Sturkie, who this street is named after and who live across the cul de sac, greeted us with a plate of cookies and brownies and welcomed us into the neighborhood! The Sturkie’s used to own the Kenilworth II land with the Wilklee’s and are still living here. They are such a part of this community and are always looking out for its best interest. Mrs. Sturkie is also an active Association Board Member and makes sure that we keep the neighborhood safe and clean. Since that evening we have loved living here and we know that you will love it as well. You will enjoy getting to know our great neighbors! There are kids of all ages in the neighborhood. The cul de sac is a natural for the many soccer, hockey and football games that take place almost every evening and weekends of course with the kids. The kids also love to ride their motorized “roadsters” around the street and cul de sac – a favorite for the girls! It is only natural that the local ice cream truck loves his route over here to tempt the kids with “treats” as they play after school and on the weekends. And parents, you too will love our neighbors (most of which have been here longer then us!) and the safety of the neighborhood. Spring and summer evenings brings us all out with the kids letting us also have some fun chatting and sharing time with each other (there are also plenty of baby sitters around too!) Our large deck and backyard are a natural for spring, summer and fall outdoor entertaining, allowing a more intimate gathering or more festive event with dozens of adults and kids – there is so much room on the deck and in the yard that everyone naturally stays outside, leaving clean up a snap. We have been known to hold some great parties out there from the standard BBQ to the Lobster Party to the Southern Low Country Boil! You will also love the wonders of the “kitchen gardens” outside that have harvested us dozens of tomatoes, cucumbers, eggplants, lettuce and whatever else your heart desires. The soil is tremendous and the sunlight is just right for your own spring and summer “organic” mix! The landscaping we put in 1 ½ years ago comes alive in the spring and the beautiful colors of pink, purple, yellow and green begin to take over the backyard. You can also eat from the fig tree and blueberry bushes. Never a dull moment in this backyard!

The school district we are in is superb – nearby and one of the best in Charlotte. With Ardrey Kell High School, Community House School and Elon Elementary School, you are in the mecca of convenient and great education. Also very convenient is St. Matthews Church and the new Elevation Church right across from Blakeney Shopping Center. There are also plenty of health clubs nearby with the Sports Recreation Center and of course the YMCA just around the corner. Blakeney Shopping Center, Stonecrest and Ballantyne Village offer shopping, theater, dining, supermarkets, wine bars and the new Mellow Mushroom that everyone loves. Not more than a couple of miles you also have Walmart and over the SC line you have lower taxes for Lowes Home Improvement and plenty of gas stations. Even though we have truly loved living here, it is time for us to downsize and move into the next phase of our lives. It is our strong desire to leave our neighbors in the capable hands of someone wonderful like you to take our place. We hope you like what you see! Stephanie + Ken Roache
