EXHILARO
BRIEF Create an alternative version of Helvetica Bold for use as a display font. Changes must be within the restrictions of Helvetica Bold and uppercase, lowercase, glyphs and numbers required. CONCEPT ‘Exhilaro’ meaning cheerful has a crafted feel which has the chararcter lacking from Helvetica Bold. Changes made include; attachment of serifs, thinning of horizontal strokes and illustrative hand shading. Promotional material enhances the feel of crafted and a personal feel through hand-bound booklet, with rounded corners and usable postcards.
A TYPE OF SHOW
BRIEF ‘A Type of Show’ exhibition of Australian typographers require a strong visual identity, and material to be presented to visitors of the exhibition. CONCEPT For this ‘short life’ exhibition, 2 colour printing kept costs low whilst harnessing a current trend. The design of the identity is simple, but effective.
SATURDAY SESSIONS
BRIEF D&AD competition brief for Ministry of Sound required 3x A2 typographically focussed posters to promote ‘Saturday Sessions’ in September, October and November 2012. CONCEPT Collaboratively, Steph Bourne and I added the 3D element for eye catching effect. I designed a new ‘Saturday Sessions’ logo to reflect the extension and the slantedx layout to communicate an edgy event, appealling to the target audience.
SATURDAY SESSIONS
BRIEF Produce a range of limited edition products to be sold for the ‘The Specials’ based on their ethos and most popular songs.
CONCEPT To achieve a high quality finish and feel of uniqueness, a mechanical pen printing technique was employed for all products, resulting in each print being completely unique. Typographical focus with each typeface designed and created by myself.
