Angled Eye

Derek Nash with Dave Newton

Angled Eye explores four works from up-and-coming choreographer Anna Watkins who trained at Rambert School and currently dances with Tavaziva Dance. Broken Silence - we enter this world with a voice but somehow I am silenced? I will un-silence myself just this once for you to hear me and notice me, this is me! Anna’s latest work Forget-Me-Not tells the touching story of her journey through and after the death of a her remarkable and intelligent mother. Inseparable tells the story of a connection between two people and the lengths you will go to protect one another. Domination explores the domination of women. It’s a man’s world - but without women there would not be the next generation. A performance combining strong, technical dancers with emotional, physical and complex choreography. www.watkinsdance.co.uk

Derek Nash, (alto sax soloist with The Jools Holland’s R&B Orchestra and leader of Sax Appeal) is a great jazz player. For this intimate session Derek is joined by Dave Newton at the piano. Dave was voted Best Jazz Pianist in the British Jazz Awards for the 10th time in 2011. The cabaret setting will give these two gifted soloists the inspiration to stretch out, and give a wonderful evening of joyful jazz and you the opportunity to enjoy a meal, sharing platter or drink from the Arts Bistro and bar at your table.

‘Nash is one of the unsung heroes of British Jazz’ Tony Augarde
