Superintendent's Message... Superintendent’s Message... This fall we are bringing two building bonds before voters. I am hosting two community meetings to discuss the bond requests and would like to encourage you to attend the second evening if you were unable to join us on September 9. The second of the two meetings is listed in our Community Education flyer and is scheduled for 6:30 PM on Monday September 23. On the evening of September 9 we started at Sunnyside Elementary for a tour of that facility and then headed to the high school at 7:15 PM for a tour of that facility. On September 23 we will reverse the order and begin our tour at the high school. During the community meeting I will be taking questions and providing details on both of the proposed bonds. I would appreciate the opportunity to come and visit with your community group or organization about the building bonds or share what is happening in Havre Public Schools. If you would like to schedule a time please contact me at 265-4356.

Every year about this time I like to start singing, “It’s the most wonderful time of the year”, much to the chagrin of my wife and two children and anyone that isn’t tone deaf. I know the song has nothing to do with the start of the school year, but for me it is absolutely one of my favorite moments throughout the year. It is such a good feeling to see the school buildings fill back up with students and be a part of the energy they bring with them. I was extremely proud of our staff as I visited our buildings on the first day of school. Havre Public Schools’ “Tradition of Excellence” was evident throughout our district beginning on day one. The 2013-2014 school year holds so much promise and I feel so fortunate to be a part of this great district. Elementary District Building Bond Sunnyside

Separate checks are appreciated for each class in which you are enrolling. Early registration and payment will help ensure the class is offered and is not overcrowded. Late registrations will be accepted only if class space is available and the class has not been cancelled. Students MUST be at least 18 years of age to participate in classes. No exceptions! Refunds will be made only if you notify the Community Education office five days prior to class starting or 10 days for classes where the instructor or Com. Ed. purchases supplies. If class is cancelled due to lack of enrollment, you will be notified and refunded any payment you have made. Community Education is always looking for instructors and classes of interest to the adult, lifelong learner. If you are interested in teaching/know someone who would be interested in teaching, or would like to suggest a class, contact the Community Education office at 265-4356 ext. 6716. The success of Community Education depends on your involvement as a student or as an instructor. Thanks for your support and here’s to a great fall session!

This group of volunteer Board members represent the community of Havre in the governance of the entire Havre District 16 & A, which is two separate legal entities of an Elementary District and High School District. They take their responsibility and obligations as a Trustee very seriously and put in many hours of their time ensuring that the needs and desires of their constituency are addressed within the laws of the federal government, the State of Montana, their own policy, and guidance as ligated in courts of law that apply to public education. The Board of Trustees are always concerned and attuned to what happens in our schools and at the school and classroom levels as well.
