SIMON HATEM

PRESIDENT, CREATIVE DIRECTOR

In 1998, Simon Hatem launched Hatem communications inc., which went on to become Hatem+D in 2005. Simon is a pure creative, an idea-man. With him, design, architecture, art, technology and communication all get connected. The result: daring and innovative projects. Simon knows how to listen and has a distinctive artistic flair. He knows how to turn ideas into realistic projects. Simon guides and inspires a team of creators who benefit from an unabated creative freedom while also sharing his vision. Simon Hatem knows how to rally people. He respects ideas, but his most noted talent is making those ideas come to life.

ANN-FRANCE DESMEULES PRINCIPAL VICE-PRESIDENT STRATEGY AND BRANDING DIRECTOR

Member of the Barreau du Québec since 1990, Ann-France Desmeules has been vice-president of Hatem+D since 2005. Prior to her partnership with Simon Hatem, Ann-France directed several advertising campaigns, notably as a marketing director for the Place Ste-Foy shopping mall. She also worked for Cossette Communication on many projects for clients such as Les Grands Feux Loto-Québec, la Ville de SaintNicolas, MSSS, CCQ, SAAQ, Bell Canada and the Concours hippique. Ann-France gets involved in all of her assignments through strategic management. She’s also a talented copywriter. Her objectivity and analytical skills are called into play to validate the efficiency of every Hatem+D concept. Her previous work experiences, such as practicing law for over 10 years, earned her a thoroughness and a work method that are very well suited for the world of communications.

ÉTIENNE BERNIER

ARCHITECT, MOAQ ARCHITECTURE VICE-PRESIDENT

Member of the Ordre des Architectes du Québec since 2011, Étienne Bernier is a daring and dynamic architect. He recently joined Hatem+D as Architecture Vice-president in order to launch his practice and share his creative and multidisciplinary vision. Étienne earned many distinctions throughout his short career, such as having his name on the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada Honour Roll, a mark of recognition only given to a few top graduates. His solid and diverse work experience got him to work with renowned architecture firms in Europe, Asia and Nunavik. Creativity and innovation are at the heart of his approach, as are his excellent listening skills and work method, all key features of a well executed architecture project. Besides his professional career, Étienne is an architectural design lecturer at the Laval University architecture school, and he is involved with various social agencies.
