General Information & Sale Notes LOCATION: The sale will be held in the Borderway Mart, Carlisle Cumbria. Motorists should leave the M6 at Junction 43 and follow CARLISLE signs. The Market is on the left hand side of the road within 1/4 mile of M6. VIEWING - The Sale Sheep will be available for viewing at Borderway Mart, Carlisle on the morning of the sale. Prior inspection of the sheep is most welcome, please contact vendors direct. HOTELS - There are many hotels within the area, ranging from four star to excellent Bed and Breakfast accommodation, a list of which may be found in the catalogue. CONDITIONS OF SALE - The Pedigree and Description of each lots and all information as to service sire dates and health are believed to be correct. The Bethell flock is a dispersal sale so no warranities are implied or given. The Brijon consignment is sold under the conditions of sale as displayed in the market, recommended by the Livestock Auctioneer’s Committee for England and Wales. METHOD OF SALE - All sheep will be sold in guineas (105 pence) and strictly in catalogue order, unless any alteration is announced by the Auctioneers. COMMISSIONS - The Auctioneers will dutifully execute commissions to purchase for buyers unable to attend the sale personally, upon receipt of written instructions. SETTLEMENT AND CLEARANCE OF STOCK - Settlement in full is due immediately at the close of Sale. Sale of the Entire Gimmer Crop from the
BRIJON FLOCK for Redhead & Watson
The Brijon flock was founded in 1984 with the aim to produce top commercial rams. The main goals in breeding have been to produce a big long Suffolk with a good square shoulder and well filled backend that has a short tight wooled skin covering it. We have stayed away from excessive bone and coarse hair and concentrated on a longer leg with black silky hair which produce females that are easily lambed and produce plenty of milk. This consignment consists of the flocks entire (2014) gimmer crop. Therefore we are offering a chance to purchase females from the heart of the flock. The Brijon flock has mainly concentrated on selling shearling rams at the Kelso ram sales where they have been in the top averages and prices year in year out. In 2014 the flocks top price was £4500 which was also the top price at Kelso (a full sister is included in the sale). In 2012 the consignment reached £3600 which was also the top price in the sale. In the last three years 90 suffolk shearling rams have been sold at Kelso to average £951. The Brijon flock is MV accredited. The gimmers are on the Heptavac P system and have been vaccinated with Toxovax and Enzovax in June 2015. All the gimmers have been scrapie genotyped prior to the sale. BETHELL FLOCK for Lee Bethell
The Bethell Flock started off in 2013, with purchases from Bridgepark, Strathisla and Hazeltree flock sales. Initial show and sale successes included Suffolk Championship with a shearling ram at Skipton show & sale, with shearlings selling up to ÂŁ1,080 producing a flock sale average of ÂŁ620 for 5 lots. The initial aim of the flock was to sell strong crossing shearling rams at Skipton and to sell good strong breeding lamb rams at Carlisle. Emphasis has been placed on producing good rams with fleshing ability, tight skins, and good well-formed gigots. With the sale of our farm this has unfortunately been the reason to have a full dispersal of the Bethell flock. The Bethell flock is MV accredited and on the Heptavac P system. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Alex Brown for all his help and support that he has given me with developing my Suffolk flock. Thank you Lee
