Pressed Steel Prest-O-Lite Tank Bands. We have designed this band so that the Prest-O-Lite tank can be attached to the 1914 luggage-carrier without interfering with the use of the carrier. These bands are not a make-shift but a fine mechanical job, made entirely of pressed steel with the exception of the wing nut which is a drop forging. One of the cleverest features of the band is the inside clip which is made to fit on the curve of the luggage-carrier, thereby preventing the tank from slipping down. Another feature of this clip are the small feet which prevent the tank from shifting side-ways when the band is tightened up securely. We have made a filler to be used in connection with the pressed steel carriers so as to prevent them from being dented when the screws are drawn up too tight. The tank can be very quickly removed by loosening the thumb nuts. The bands are finished in white nickel, making a first class job. Price per pair, complete, $1.30

Tank Supporting Bracket. We have designed this bracket so that riders who prefer to place the Prest-O-Lite tank on handle-bars will have a rigid support for the tank. The bracket is held in place by the triple clamp screws. As longer screws are required we furnish two with each bracket. In ordering be sure and specify the model for which bracket is required.

Price, $1.00

Tee Connection. A small connection to join tubing so that gas can be supplied to both head and tail light. Price, .10

Annealed Copper Tubing. We find that the best results are obtained with the 3-16" annealed copper tubing which is large enough to carry the amount of gas necessary to light the lamps and at the same time is neat and compact. This tubing is soft and pliable but exceptionally strong and will stand a good deal of wear and tear. Price per foot, . 10

Rubber Tubing. After experimenting for some time with various grades of rubber tubing we finally decided on the tubing which we are now supplying to our trade. This tubing is exceptionally heavy and of A No. 1 quality. Price per foot, . 14

Stewart Speedometer. Front Wheel Drive Model 101 The new front drive "Stewart" solid tube speedometer is guaranteed by the makers to overcome all the disadvantages of the old style front drive flexible shaft speedometer. The speedometer is of admirable proportion, highly finished, and contains a very compactly constructed instrument窶廃ermitting the use of extra strong and durable parts that assure long life and permanent accuracy. The case is nickel-plated, making a very neat appearing instrument. The handsome 2J^-inch dial is black, making the speedometer and odometer figures stand out strong. The cover is of heavy French glass. The speedometer will indicate speed up to 75 miles an hour. The odometer employs a plain, hard bronze gear train, positively driven, each wheel positively locked into its proper position窶馬o possibility of the dials slipping窶馬o failure to register the correct mileage窶馬o lubricant required. A big, sturdy, costly mechanism that will run 100,000 miles and still be serviceable. The Season Odometer registers 10,000 miles and repeats. The Trip register will record up to 100 miles, and can be rapidly reset at any time to any tenth of a mile. This is a very desirable feature in following road maps. All Stewart speedometers are made upon the magnetic principle. There is only one moving part. It is the most simple mechanism in the world. There is practically no wear whatsoever to the Stewart Magnetic Type Speedometer. A new handle bar clamp bracket allows the speedometer to be held in almost any position the rider desires. The whole equipment is very simple to install and full instructions accompany every outfit. Every motorcyclist can equip his machine with the Stewart Front-Wheel Drive Speedometer without the least trouble. Price complete, $12.00

Rear Wheel Drive Model 101-A For those who prefer we also carry the rear wheel drive Stewart Speedometer, embodying all the features of the front drive Speedometer, with the exception of the shaft which is of flexible type. A special designed split sprocket has been made for use on the Harley-Davidson, which is large enough so that it can be placed over the rear brake drum without any trouble. Price complete, $12.00

Tandem Attachment. The Harley-Davidson tandem attachment is constructed especially for use on Harley-Davidson motorcycles. In lines and finish, it conforms to the general lines of the motorcycle. The tandem itself is very substantially constructed, the forks being made of 1 - inch, 14-gauge seamless tubing, the footrest of y<i' x 1" channel iron, and the seat bar is a drop forging. Foot Boards, Foot Levers, Band Brake together with Fittings. Price, complete as shown $22.00 For description see other side.

Harley-Davidson Archives

We are offering the foot board and band brake attachments so that riders of our 1912 and 1913 motorcycles can equip them with this improvement.

Foot Boards. These foot boards are constructed the same as those used on our 1914 models, except that they are fitted with adjustable clamps so that they can be attached to models of previous years. The foot clutch lever is connected with the hand operating clutch lever by means of a small clamp so designed that it fits over the head of the quadrant friction bolt, while the foot brake lever is connected with the brake by means of an adjustable rod which acts independent of the pedals. With a set of these foot boards the rider has complete control over his motorcycle as the clutch and the band brake can be operated without removing the feet from the foot boards. The clutch control is located on the left foot board while the brake control is located on the right foot board.

Band Brake. The band brake is fitted over the Thor coaster brake but works independent of it. It is the same type as used on our 1914 10-A belt drive model, having an external contracting band operating on a brake drum 7j/ÂŁ inches in diameter with a J'g-inch face. Made of heavy pressed steel, brake band faced with the very best brake lining obtainable. By referring to the illustration one can see how simple the adjustments are on this brake. With this brake the rider is able to control his motorcycle at all times and in crowded traffic can bring it to an abrupt stop by simply pressing his foot on the brake lever. This is a great improvement over the ordinary coaster brake.

Full directions sent with each attachment.

Exhaust Horn The Aermore exhaust horn has all the advantage of a clear and yet sharp signal without any of the disadvantages which go with the necessity of cutting the exhaust pipe in two or obstructing the exhaust pipe with a valve interfering somewhat with the free passage of exhaust gases. When the horn is not being used the exhaust pipe is absolutely free and the discharge gases from the cylinder pass unimpeded from the exhaust valve to the muffler. The damper is then against the opening in the horn, shutting it completely off from the exhaust. When the rider wants to give a warning signal with the horn the operation is extremely simple. A short pull on the control and the damper is turned over into the exhaust pipe, switching the exhaust gases from the exhaust pipe into the horn. The Aermore exhaust horn is correct in design and construction and is guaranteed by the manufacturer to give complete satisfaction. The horn will not clog or get out of order. It has few moving parts and no upkeep expense. The first cost is the only cost. On 1914 Harley-Davidsons the horn is attached with a forty-five degree elbow which carries the horn forward away from the cylinder so as not to interfere with the operation of the foot brake lever adjacent to the right foot board. At an instant's notice the rider can give a signal with the Aermore exhaust horn that is at all times musical and which can be made to sound for a considerable distance when necessary. The amount of warning sound is always under the control of the rider. In the city it can be modulated for short distances and in the country can be given loud enough to be heard several hundred yards. And the signal is always musical and pleasing. Price complete, $5.50 No. 30 Motorcycle Horn. High polished spun bell bulb horn. Full nickel plated, giving it a very neat appearance. Has a low, deep tone which clears the way. Price, each, $2.50

Harley-Davidson Motorcycle Oil This oil is absolutely the cleanest and most efficient motorcycle oil to be had. It is compounded according to our own specifications, determined only after years of exhaustive experiments and tests. It is refined from the choicest crude oil obtainable. In addition to having a high fire test, it contains no perceptible amount of free carbon due to the fact that it is filtered several times through fuller's earth which entirely eliminates all foreign elements. Practially all motor trouble is directly traceable to the use of either insufficient oil, or use of oil of inferior quality. Many unscruplous dealers sell these inferior grades for low prices but at a greater profit, claiming for them a high fire test, or that their oil is just as good, etc., but these oils are usually mechanically colored and are never clean or free from carbon. In addition to the regular oil that we have been furnishing in the past, we are now supplying a heavier oil for warm weather. 1 Gal. Can $1.00 5 Gal. Can 4 00 10 Gallons (2-5 Gal.
