Heartsaver First Aid

This course is designed for individuals who have successfully completed the Healthcare Provider Course within the past two years and are in need of a refresher. It includes an update on the skills listed in the Healthcare Provider CPR course. All participants must be able to kneel on the floor beside a manikin for extended periods of time. The 25-question test requires a passing score of 84%. The required text is the AHA Healthcare Provider Book. Senior adult and disabled retiree tuition waivers apply. Transcript available.

Be prepared! This course, designed for first responders, individuals needing credentialed training for job or regulatory requirements, and those interested in responding to emergencies, provides you with the opportunity to learn basic first aid including medical, injury, and environmental emergencies. Topics include control of bleeding, fracture and sprain care, and accident scene security. Meets OSHA regulations. The American Heart Association Heartsaver First Aid Course completion card is valid for two years. Textbook available in the bookstore. Senior adult and disabled retiree tuition waivers apply. Heartsaver AED Learn basic CPR and AED skills! If you are a first responder, an individual needing credentialed training for job or regulatory requirements, or interested in learning life-saving interventions, this class is for you. Topics include giving CPR to an infant, child, or an adult, using an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), using a mask or barrier device, and relief of choking.
