CORPORATE PHOTOGRAPHY MEANS EXECUTIVES LOOK GOOD. ALL PORTRAITS PHOTOGRAPHED BY ANDREAS BAIER.

JAN DELAY.

WORK IN PROGRESS: 26 PORTRAITS The long-term project «Corporate Photography Means Executives Look Good» is designed to portray executives from various creative areas in five different photographs each. Every set of portraits shall contain «staged» photographs as well as so-called «situation shots». This project will be still under way for the next years – and shall not be finished until it‘ll be finished. Andreas Baier likes the idea of creating and serving creative slow food. Here, each creative is presented with just two photographs. The only exceptions are Ernst Beyeler (1), Larry Gagosian (1), Carl Laszlo (3), Bill Gates (I), Gabriele and Alexander Baier (3), Gerhard Richter (Bonustrack (I) , Gerhard Schröder (I), Hansfried Defet (III), Marc Spiegler (III) and Dieter Meier (Bonustrack (II).

PORTRAITS: Hermann Nitsch, Klaus Staeck, Dagmar und Tassilo von Grolman, Gerhard Schröder, Klaus Honnef, Markus Lüpertz, Michael und Helga Conrad, Carl Laszlo, Bill Gates, Kasper König, Klaus Klemp, Bazon Brock, Thomas Höpker, Nicolas V. Iljine, Hans Ulrich Obrist, Gabriele und Alexander Baier, Gerhard Richter (Bonustrack I), Mike Meiré, Hansfried Defet, Dieter Rams, Dorothea van der Koelen, Sir Peter Ustinov, Ernst Beyeler, Marc Spiegler, Bill Roedy and Dieter Meier (Bonustrack (II). There are more to come.

THE PHOTOGRAPHER: Andreas Baier‘s analogously manufactured «flashlight paintings» as well as his «digital paintings» are part of the art market. As a photographer he used to work for editorial and corporate magazines as well as advertising agencies. Sometimes he still does.

In the early 1960s his parents opened a gallery for contemporary art; and quite soon they also launched their art magazine «KUNST» – the later «Magazin KUNST» –, which was published quarterly. So, right to the beginning of his life Andreas Baier met a lot of artists who later became famous, such as Emil Schumacher, Walter Stöhrer, Chu-Te Chun or Joseph Beuys. Consequently, he considers art to be an indispensable nourishment for the spirit.
