The Concept engaged is New Zealand’s first fully-featured online wedding magazine. 100% New Zealand owned and operated, engaged is an innovative concept: a fully-featured online wedding magazine catering to the current environmental, social and economic climate in New Zealand. Our belief at engaged is that couples planning their wedding should be able to do so with ease and confidence. We aim to meet our readers’ needs by providing a free, instantly-available magazine that highlights the best wedding products New Zealand has to offer.

engaged is free to readers. There is no charge for anyone to look at the magazine, and everyone loves something for nothing!

Being in electronic format, engaged is easier to share with friends. Brides with bridesmaids on the other side of the world can look at and chat about the same products and services at the same time. With the traditional hard-copy wedding magazines, it is difficult for an advertiser to know which magazine to advertise in as a couple will not necessarily purchase multiple magazines. As engaged is available free of charge, there is no reason for couples not to download it (even if they have already purchased one of the traditional magazines). Unlike other wedding magazines, which have up to 30 advertisements per page in their Classified sections, engaged only has a maximum of 6 advertisements per page, ensuring that your advertisment gets excellent exposure! Partnerships engaged is owned and operated by Hamilton Media Limited, the publisher of Weddings.co.nz, New Zealand’s premier online wedding website and directory. By leveraging the relationship with Weddings.co.nz, engaged will have access to the large number of visitors to Weddings.co.nz. As at 31 May 2008, Neilson NetRatings show that Weddings.co.nz attracted an average of 12,350 readers per month over the period 1 June 2007 to 31 May 2008. Those readers contributed to Weddings.co.nz having over 2 million page hits over the yearly period ended 31 May 2008. Weddings.co.nz has a mailing list of approximately 6,500 opt-in subscribers to whom a monthly newsletter is sent. By utilising this relationship, we expect engaged to experience the same level of readership.

Adobe® Flash® Player is the world’s most pervasive software platform installed on over 850 million internet-enabled desktops and devices. In the event that a reader does not have it installed, it is a small download available free of charge from www.adobe.com. Does it cost anything to read the magazine? No, there is no charge to read engaged. As we have no distribution and printing costs, we are pleased to provide engaged free of charge. This means that there is no reason for people not to read engaged. Why are your advertising costs so reasonable? As we have no printing and distribution costs, we are able to offer advertising at extremely competitive rates compared with tradtional media. By utilising this advantage, you can now get magazine-style exposure for reasonable prices. How long does it take to download the magazine? While it is dependent on the speed of a person’s internet connection, we have configured engaged to load quickly. As each page loads individually, the first few pages will normally have loaded within a few seconds, letting the reader begin reading.
